Here's your Days of our Lives recap for Thursday, April 10, 2025, when Sami made her triumphant return, along with a few other familiar faces.
What happened on Days of our Lives

Johnny couldn't stop thinking about the night EJ was shot and remembered taking that gun out of the lockbox at The Brady Pub. A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. Chad was there to check in on his nephew and was surprised that Johnny had not been by the hospital to visit his father.
"Did you think that maybe there was a reason for that? Maybe I don't care if he lives or dies," Johnny said. Chad tried to reason with Johnny and apologized for publishing the recent article about EJ. Johnny said he was glad that EJ was exposed for who he really was and told Chad that EJ's behavior cost him and Chanel the chance to adopt Tate and Sophia's baby.
Johnny admitted that his biggest struggle at the moment was learning and absorbing "what my dad did to my mom." Johnny soon realized that Chad already knew how he was conceived all those years ago. Chad explained that nobody had told Johnny in order to protect him, but Johnny was sick of that excuse.
Johnny was also angry at Sami for lying to him for his entire life and not even returning his voicemail telling her that he knew. "She's the one who, after he did that to her, she chose to stay with him. She chose to marry him and had another child with him," Johnny said with disgust.
Chad wanted Johnny to put all that aside and think about the fact that EJ was now in a coma and could die. "If you don't take the chance to go see him now, you might never get another one," Chad said.
Belle was stunned to see Sami appear in EJ's hospital room. She also knew Sami had heard her tell EJ that she loved him. Sami didn't know why Belle was so surprised that she was in Salem. "I mean, the father of my children has been shot and is in a coma. Again. And yes, we're divorced, but I still care about him, but I guess I'm not the only one in the family who does, " Sami said.
Sami informed Belle that she had heard Belle telling EJ that she loved him. Belle found her voice and told Sami that she wasn't allowed to be in EJ's room, but as the DA, Belle was. Belle asked Sami if they could be civil toward one another.
"Oh, I am being civil, Belle. You can't expect me not to react to my baby sister declaring her love for the father of my children and then treating me like I'm the intruder," Sami said. Then, Sami got a dig in. "Last time I was in town, it was kinda obvious that he was just using you as a substitute for me," she added.
Belle made a point of telling Sami that EJ had pursued her this time, which Sami found hard to believe. Still, she kept her cool. "I've moved on with my life. I don't give a damn who he sleeps with," Sami claimed. Belle finally asked Sami why she was there if she didn't care about EJ anymore. "I am back in Salem for my son," Sami replied.
Belle was horrified when Sami told her that Kate had spilled the entire story of how Johnny was conceived, and he wasn't handling it well. Sami then changed the subject to John and sincerely told Belle how sorry she was about her father being missing.
Once Sami was alone in the room with EJ, Sami told the comatose EJ how she used to sit by his bedside the last time he was in a coma in Italy. She willed him to wake up then and was doing the same now. "Come on, EJ. You have got to pull out of this. Whether you believe it or not, there are people in this world who love you a lot," she said.
Sami began rambling about the situation with Johnny and how she had no idea what to say to her son. "How am I supposed to explain to my son how I fell in love with you after what you did to me?" she asked, not realizing Johnny was right at the door and had heard her. "Well, Mom, now's your chance," he said.
As Gabi stared at a news story about EJ's shooting on her tablet, she also remembered being outside the DiMera mansion's back door the night EJ took the bullet. She had a gun in her hand and was about to open the door when Philip and Xander entered her office and brought her back to the present.
She was shocked when they told her it was no longer her office but theirs. "All of this belongs to us now," Xander told a confused Gabi. "Titan Industries has just taken over DiMera Enterprises, which means Gabi Chic is a subsidiary thereof," Xander explained. All Gabi could do was laugh because she didn't believe him.
Once Gabi finally believed their claim, she told them how disgusted she was with them and nearly quit until Xander warned her that "Gabi Chic stays right here." Philip reminded Gabi that her contract was with DiMera and that she would have to renegotiate now that Wei Shin had "sold you down the river
Sarah walked into the Kiriakis living room to find Alex frantically responding to emails. She was stunned when Alex told her that Titan had just taken over DiMera Enterprises. Alex wasn't even happy about it because of Philip's trickery. "Now that son of a bitch owns two companies he has no right to," Alex lamented.
Sarah attempted to excuse her deception. It wasn't like Philip was an imposter. He was Victor's son and had been Titan CEO before, so what's a little white lie now? She also wanted to help Philip. "I thought in my heart of hearts that Victor would want Philip to have a role in the company after he recovered from his illness," Sarah said.
Alex didn't care because he knew Sarah wanted to use Philip as a check on Xander's power and "now they're both drunk on power." Sarah still felt things were working out fine, but Alex disagreed and hated what the lies were doing to Stephanie. Alex also explained that this didn't work for him emotionally.
"After taking Xander's place as the Kiriakis heir for months...I didn't have any idea because I was lied to and I was played for a fool," Alex said. He could relate to how Xander would feel if he ever learned the truth. Alex said the only reason he was keeping the secret was because of how well Xander and Philip were getting along.
Later, after Sarah left to have a drink with Xander, Philip returned home and was stunned when both Kate and Vivian appeared in the Kiriakis living room.
Kate was fascinated by a news story about the police hauling Kristen in for questioning regarding EJ's shooting. "Police discoverered she was carrying a loaded firearm in her handbag," Kate read. She then took a gun out of her own purse and said, "Well, she's not the only one."
Like with Johnny, a knock on the door interrupted Kate's thoughts, but she was glad because Rex was there, fresh from his accident that left his arm in a sling. She was relieved to know the driver who caused his accident was in custody. Rex just wanted to know why Kate never told him that EJ had threatened to hurt one of her sons.
