3 BIG Days of our Lives Takeaways, March 4: Joy's dilemma, Marlena's sad news, and a Kiriakis coup

On the Tuesday, March 4, 2025, episode of Days of our Lives, Joy wondered why she felt horrible, Marlena received a devastating phone call, and Philip and Xander found success.

Days of our Lives highlights

Awkward moments ensued when Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) ran into one another at The Brady Pub. Alex apologized for hurting Joy, but she put on a happy face and said she was over it. When Alex left, Joy took one bite of her French fry and ran to the bathroom.

She then headed straight to the hospital, where she told Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) that her period was late and wondered if she could be pregnant. When Sarah asked the lab to rush the test, Stephanie overheard the whole conversation.

As for Joy, she bumped into Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) in Horton Square. He offered her some cookies, but she asked if he could offer her a job instead.

A fateful phone call

Cat (AnnaLynn McCord) interrupted Marlena (Deidre Hall), who was staring at a photo of John (the late Drake Hogestyn) on her desk. The two women discussed the hospital fundraiser — and Chad (Billy Flynn). Marlena asked Cat if she was lying to her or herself when Cat said that she no longer had feelings for Chad.

However, Marlena became distracted again when Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) called with some horrible news. John was now officially missing in action. Shane couldn't even reach him. Marlena explained what was happening to Cat, who went straight to Chad to tell him Marlena needed a friend.

Once alone, Marlena picked up John's photo and promised she would find her missing husband herself.

Xander and Philip unite

Philip was surprised to hear that Mr. Shin (Clyde Kusatsu) was on his way from Hong Kong for an important business meeting. When he arrived at the Kiriakis mansion, Philip and Xander (Paul Telfer) pitched their idea to become the majority shareholders at DiMera Enterprises.

Mr. Shin was against the idea at first until the Kiriakis brothers offered him a leadership position within the company. When Mr. Shin left, Philip and Xander celebrated their success. After all, this is what Victor always wanted. It's also what Sarah wanted in her own way as she is thrilled to see Xander get along so well with his brother.
