3 BIG Days of our Lives Takeaways, February 28: Sophia's lies, Johnny and Chanel's news, Julie's heartache

On the Friday, February 28, 2025, episode of Days of our Lives, Sophia told some fibs, Johnny and Chanel spread their news, and Doug's guilt ate away at him.

Days of our Lives highlights

Sophia (Rachel Boyd) was hurt that Tate (Leo Howard) told Holly (Ashley Puzemis) about Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel's (Raven Bowens) offer to adopt their baby before he told her, but she realized it was Valentine's Day so he was more focused on Holly than usual.

Sophia still worried that her mother wouldn't approve of Johnny and Chanel. However, when Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) walked by and saw Sophia and Tate talking in Horton Square, Sophia put on a happy face and told her mom they had found the perfect couple to raise their child.

When Sophia mentioned their names, Amy didn't recognize them as members of their church, so Sophia lied and said they were members of another church. Then, she poured it on thick and informed her mom that Chanel also led Bible study classes. Amy was thrilled with the choice, but Tate wondered how they would get away with such a tall tale.

Family ties

Paulina (Jackee Harry) rushed to the hospital when she heard Chanel was having a procedure. Chanel assured her mother that she did not have cancer but needed to have pre-cancerous cells removed from her uterus. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) gave her a clean bill of health, and everything would be fine. Johnny stopped by Marlena's (Deidre Hall) office to tell his grandmother the same.

Chanel also told Paulina about wanting to adopt Sophia and Tate's baby. Paulina reminded Chanel how hard it was to give up Lani (Sal Stowers) to her sister, meaning adoption within a family doesn't always go smoothly. When Johnny informed Marlena of their plans, she wondered what the rush was. In the end, both mother and grandmother gave their blessing.

Doug's deep guilt

While Holly told Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) about Doug III (Peyton Manning) confessing his feelings for her at the Horton Cabin, Doug had a consequential talk with Julie at the Horton House. Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) went on and on about how she regretted accusing her brother of stealing Alice's (Frances Reid) diamond necklace, but she'd still do anything to get it back.

Doug's face gave away his guilty feelings as he dreamed of Holly but also tried to figure out a way to return the necklace to Julie.
