3 BIG Days of our Lives takeaways, February 17: Romantic — and awkward — Valentine's Day moments

On the Monday, February 17, 2025 episode of Days of our Lives, couples and potential couples got to know one another a little better.

Days of our Lives highlights

Holly (Ashley Puzemis) was shocked when Doug III (Peyton Meyer) walked into the Horton cabin and found her posing in front of the mirror in lingerie. Doug explained that he was there to get Julie's (Susan Seaforth Hayes) special poetry book. After he found it, Doug and Holly began reading from it. Doug was impressed that Holly knew one of the poems by heart. They were both impressed with a special inscription Doug I had written to Julie years ago.

Doug admitted that the words were special and they described how he felt about Holly. Doug was embarrassed at what he said, but he didn't have a chance to discuss it with Holly because Tate (Leo Howard) arrived. Doug quickly left, giving Holly and Tate alone time. Holly was surprised when Tate told her that Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) had offered to adopt his and Sophia's (Rachel Boyd) baby.

Getting to know you, part 1

Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Stephanie (Abigail Klein) have been an item before but it was more of a sexual relationship than an emotional one. However, Valentine's Day at The Bistro brought romance and talk. Alex told Stephanie all about his Parisian vacations with his mother when he was a kid.

Stephanie told Alex about growing up with her single mom in California. It was hard not having her dad around but Stephanie and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) were a team that frequently visited California amusement parks. She didn't know that her mother was home worried about Stephanie's love life.

Getting to know you, part 2

Javi (Al Calderon) and Leo (Greg Rikaart) are an official couple now but still had a lot to learn about each other on Valentine's Day, including that Javi is a football fan and Leo is decidedly not. Javi introduced Leo to his favorite team as they cuddled in bed and watched TV.

They even began planning for next Valentine's Day, indicating that they expected this new relationship to be long-term. Here's to Valentine's Day 2026.
