Girldad: Carson Boatman and Julana Dizon welcome their first child together

Daytime star Carson Boatman and wife Julana Dizon received an early Christmas present when they welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Ava Rey.

Days of our Lives' Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera) is officially a girl dad. He and his wife -- The Bold and the Beautiful's Julana Dizon -- welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Ava Ray. The proud new parents shared the wonderful news in an Instagram post featuring a series of photos that were taken shortly after Ava Rey's December 18th birth. "Christmas came early this year. We are so in love with our sweet baby girl, Ava Rey, and can't wait to see what this next stage of life will look like for the three of us. #girldad 👨‍👩‍👧," the caption read.

Well wishes poured in from co-stars including Brandon Barash, who was quick to react to the blessed event with, "Can't wait to meet my future daughter in law!" Barash and his wife welcomed a baby boy earlier this year. Greg Vaughan chimed in with, "The journey begins 🙌 #congratulations #gbya 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻" and Diedre Hall added, "Oh Carson. What a magical picture. A daughter. Ha! You don't have a chance!!!"

The second Instagram post was a video of Boatman taking his family home from the hospital and introducing his precious daughter to the family dog. Dizon responded to the video with the caption, "Ending the year as a family of 3 ❤️"

In an exclusive interview with People, Boatman and Dizon revealed that Ava Rey's middle name was in honor of Dizon's father, Reynaldo Dizon, who sadly passed in November after a long battle with lung cancer.

"It truly feels like we've found something we didn't even know we were missing in our lives. The only way I can think to describe it is pure joy, but it's really something more than that. We are blessed and humbled to have been chosen to be Ava's parents. What we are now lacking in sleep, we have gained tenfold in love," the couple said.
