When Kassie DePaiva left the role of Eve Donovan on Days of our Lives in 2020, the actress wasn't sure she would ever return to Salem. Fortunately for DePaiva and her fans, the veteran soap actress is set to reappear for one episode airing during the week of July 31.
Kassie DePaiva (Eve Donovan) is headed back to Days of our Lives. The actress revealed that she would be reprising the role of Eve Donovan, which she first landed in 2014. The last time viewers saw Eve, she was sent to Bayview after having been deemed criminally insane for the attempted murder and brainwashing of Ben Weston (played by Robert Scott Wilson).
DePaiva revealed to Soap Opera Digest that her upcoming scene scheduled for Thursday, August 3, will feature her character running into former high school classmate Harris Michaels (portrayed by Steve Burton). "(Harris) was this bully jock and not a kind soul," DePaiva told the magazine. "I just tried to stay true to the character."
It won't be the first time that viewers will have seen DePaiva in a scene with Burton. In 2012, when DePaiva's One Life to Live character Blair crossed over to General Hospital, she shared a group scene with Jason Morgan (Burton's character on GH).

While her return to the Peacock soap will be very brief, DePaiva admitted that she would always be open to reprising the role of Eve.
"It's not my world anymore, but I love to play [when] they call me," she said.
DePaiva garnered two Daytime Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Eve, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2016 and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019.
Prior to that, she made her daytime debut on Guiding Light as Chelsea Reardon in 1986. Her most notable run on daytime came in 1992 when she landed the role of Blair Daimler on One Life to Live. DePaiva would stay on the show until its very end -- both through its run on ABC and the 2013 streaming reboot by Prospect Park. She was nominated for a Lead Actress Daytime Emmy for her portrayal of Blair in 2005.
