DAYS' Lucas Adams reveals drama on Beyond Salem will have impact on network version of soap

Days of our Lives' head writer Ron Carlivati teases the "super exciting" stories he has planned for summer, plus hear from the scribe and Lucas Adams (Tripp Dalton) about what's in store for beyond Salem.

Days of our Lives took home the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing this year, and what's ahead on the NBC soap opera this summer sounds as if it's on track to match 2021's winning material. There won't be any more devil shenanigans, but there will be murder, mayhem, and mystery, as well as some super sibling squabbles.

DAYS head writer Ron Carlivati previews the "twists and turns" ahead in an interview with Soap Hub, teasing that one of the show's summer storylines will focus on uncovering the truth behind who killed Abigail (Marci Miller).

"We're playing the family grieving and, at the same time, the mystery unravels," he shares. "We keep building up the suspects and then knocking them down."

Carlivati also says that he discovered some nice chemistry when he paired E.J. (Dan Feuerriegel) and Belle Black (Martha Madison), "but what takes it to another level is that it's [with] Sami's [Alison Sweeney] sister."

The writer also touches on the material for DAYS' Peacock spinoff, Beyond Salem, which just released its first teaser trailer. The five-episode special will feature a highly anticipated reunion between Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso).

"This is a super exciting chapter for Bo and Hope fans," Carlivati teases. "I hope they will be happy."

Speaking of super exciting Beyond Salem moments, Soap Central caught up with Lucas Adams on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmy Awards, and he revealed that fans won't want to miss a moment of the limited series. As Soap Central previously reported, Adams' Tripp Dalton has left Salem, but he will be appearing on the spinoff that drops on Monday, July 11.

"The fans definitely need to check out the new Beyond Salem coming out very soon, because y'all are going to be in for a treat. It's going to be super, super fun," he teased to Soap Central, adding, "And keep watching this year, because I know that there's a lot of stuff coming on [to the network version of the show] from that. So, it's going to be cool!"
