Days of our Lives' Lucas Adams opens up about wrapping his run as Tripp Dalton and what the future might bring.
Lucas Adams has finished his run as Days of our Lives' Tripp Dalton, which the actor says was both surprising and not surprising at the same time.
"I didn't know where my character was going, especially when [the Allie/Tripp/Chanel triangle] was over. And Tripp was mostly the third wheel, so, it totally made sense storyline-wise. But it did surprise me, because we just had that whole storyline of Tripp dying and being brought back [to life]," the actor shares in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest. "I guess Tripp is not someone who sticks around all the time. He needs to stretch his wings every now and then."
Fortunately, since Tripp wasn't killed off, there's still a large possibility that viewers will see Adams reprise the role he originated in 2017. And Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali), Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady), and Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson) agree.

"They were like, 'You didn't die. You'll be back,'" Adams shares. "They've been in the ballgame a long time. They've seen people come and go. They've come and went. They know how it works. They kept telling me I'd be back or would be too busy to come back. I hope so."
In fact, Adams almost immediately reprised the role of Tripp following his exit -- just not for the network version of the show. Instead, the actor will appear in scenes in the upcoming second season of DAYS' Peacock spinoff Beyond Salem.
"That was a big surprise... it was only a couple of months after I ended DAYS, so, it was like I never really left," the actor enthuses of his Beyond Salem gig. "Peacock is much bigger and there's a lot of stuff going on. It's a whole new ballgame, and it was really fun."
As for what else the actor has coming up, he reports that he has been writing a comic book with his pal Joey Bragg, and he has been planning his wedding with fiance, Shelby Wulfert.
"It will be October 15, which is coming up pretty soon, and in Texas," Adams shares. "She already has her dress. We're figuring out everything that's going on. We're doing a very small, micro wedding with just our family and stuff. Very intimate style."
