Hallmark kicks off 2022 with romantic film series starring DAYS' Alison Sweeney, AMC's Lacey Chabert

Hallmark has set a date for Wedding Veil, the film trilogy that stars Days of our Lives' Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) and All My Children alum Lacey Chabert (ex-Bianca Montgomery). Plus, get a detailed synopsis of the über romantic project.

Grab a glass of something sparkly and get ready to toast to the New Year, because Hallmark is making sure that 2022 gets off to a great start: the feel-good network just announced that its upcoming Wedding Veil film trilogy will drop its first installment on Saturday, January 8.

As Soap Central previously reported, the romantic project stars Days of our Lives' Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) and All My Children alum Lacey Chabert (ex-Bianca Montgomery) alongside Autumn Reeser as a trio of close but far-flung college friends who, during one of their annual trips together, discover an enchanted antique that changes each of their lives.

Along with the announcement that the first Wedding Veil film will premiere in early January, Hallmark also released a more detailed synopsis of the project: "The first installment of an enchanting new trilogy starring three of Hallmark's most beloved leading ladies as longtime college friends who discover a mysterious, antique veil fabled to unite its bearer with her true love. After discovering a long-lost painting, museum curator Avery and successful new board member Peter investigate the artwork's origins as they plan a charity fundraiser to unveil its restoration."

In addition to starring in the films, Chabert also serves as executive producer, and she enthused over the summer that she is thrilled to be working with two other Hallmark leading ladies.

"This project is, quite literally, a dream come true for me and one that I have been deeply invested in," she said. "Both Allison and Autumn are incredibly talented, smart, and wonderful women and actors. I'm thrilled to be able to finally get to work with them and tell this very special story!"

Hallmark has yet to announce the release dates for the second and third Wedding Veil installments, but the network did drop details and release dates of several other original films set to debut in January, a couple of which include soap opera stars.

DAYS alum Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa Donovan) will star alongside Christopher Russell in Love is Trending, which will premiere on Saturday, January 15. Meanwhile, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will be premiering North to Home -- which stars Lyndsy Fonseca (ex-Colleen Carlton, The Young and the Restless), Kimberley Sustad, Erica Durance, and Barbara Niven (ex-Liz Coleman Reynolds, One Life to Live; ex-Brenda Dickerson, The Bold and the Beautiful) -- on Sunday, January 9.
