Days of our Lives' Mary Beth Evans to appear on The Rookie

ABC's The Rookie is getting another boost of soap opera talent, this time with a special guest star appearance by Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady, Days of our Lives).

Days of our Lives star Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady) will be joining One Life to Live alum Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan) and DAYS alum Eric Winter (ex-Rex Brady) in the hit series The Rookie.

The actress will be appearing in the Sunday, November 14, episode of the ABC cop drama that follows a 40-something-year-old man who moved from his comfortable, small-town life to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of being a police officer.

Evans' episode is titled Fire Fight, and it takes place in the aftermath of an explosion that killed Fred. Officer Nolan (Fillion) and Bailey (Jenna Dewan) discover there's more to Fred's death than meets the eye. Meanwhile, Officer Chen (Melissa O'Neil) and Officer Bradford (Winter) demand a treasure hunt rematch and enlist Officer Grey (Richard T. Jones) to help set the terms to a new bet, all while they arrest a series of wealthy female criminals. It's unclear how Evans will feature in the episode, but our money is on her playing one of those wealthy criminals.

Mary Beth Evans has been playing the role of DAYS' Kayla on-again, off-again since 1986. Her other soap credits include playing As the World Turns' Sierra Esteban and Port Charles and General Hospital's Katherine Bell, while her non-soap credits include series such as The Bay, This Just In, Chasing Life, Monk, and Knight Rider.
