Peacock has ordered five episodes of Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, a spinoff that brings Lisa Rinna (Billie Reed) back to the canvas alongside Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), Drake Hogestyn (John Black), James Reynolds (Abe Carver), Jackée Harry (Paulina Price), and more.
Holy hourglasses, Batman! Days of our Lives is set to bring fans even more soapy fun with a new series to air on Peacock. Titled Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, the spinoff will feature a host of DAYS favorites, including the return of Lisa Rinna in the role of iconic Salemite Billie Reed and the introduction of a recast Sonny Kiriakis.
According to an official press release, the limited series will consist of five episodes that feature Salemites having adventures around the globe during a long and drama-packed weekend. John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) travel to Zurich; Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) have a romantic getaway in New Orleans; Chad (Billy Flynn) visits some old friends in Phoenix; and Abe (James Reynolds), Paulina (Jacke Harry), Lani (Sal Stowers), and Eli (Lamon Archey) vacation in Miami. All find themselves embroiled in a mystery involving stolen jewels, which, in the wrong hands, could cause dire consequences for Salem. The result is "a race against time for ISA agent Billie Reed as she crosses the globe in search of this missing treasure."
Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem -- which promises all the romance, action, drama, and cliffhangers that only Days of our Lives can deliver -- will also feature additional beloved characters who will make surprise appearances and join the hunt for stolen gems across the globe.

Some of those surprise appearances by beloved characters are now a little less surprisey. Christie Clark (Carrie Brady) and Austin Peck (Austin Reed) will appear in the Beyond Salem mini-series. The pair last appeared on-screen together in 2017, but both made DAYS-related appearances in 2019. Clark appeared on the NBC series, while Peck took part in the Chad and Abby in Paris series, which was featured on the DAYS app.
In addition, Sonny and Will will also be back -- but not as fans remember them. Emmy winner Chandler Massey reprises the role of Will, but Y&R's Zach Tinker (Fen Baldwin) will take over the role of Sonny Kiriakis. As Soap Central reported last week, Emmy winner Freddie Smith announced that he would not be reprising the role of Sonny. Also slated to appear is Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher, Y&R), who will reprise the role of Leo Stark.
And one more bit of couples news: Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley will play Tony and Anna DiMera.
It has also been revealed that Eileen Davidson will be a part of Beyond Salem. For more on that, be sure to read Eileen Davidson signs on to appear in Beyond Salem -- but as who?
The fun-filled limited series is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday is the executive producer with co-executive producer Albert Alarr, while Ron Carlivati serves as head writer.
Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem follows DAYS' previous spinoffs, a 2019 digital series called Chad and Abby in Paris that starred Billy Flynn and Kate Mansi, and the 2020 digital series Last Blast Reunion that starred Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe Lane), Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip Kiriakis), Martha Madison (Belle Brady), and more.
A premiere date has not officially been announced, but the Peacock Twitter account may have inadvertently revealed it. In a since-deleted tweet, the official Peacock service account responded to a fan's question about when the series would bow. "Thank you for reaching out. Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem will be available on Peacock starting 9/6/21," the tweet shared. "We hope this helps!" No additional details were revealed. Is September 6 the real premiere date? Keep checking back to Soap Central for updates as they come!
