REPORT: Precious Way departs Days of our Lives, Raven Bowens steps in as Chanel

Days of our Lives has reportedly recast the role of Chanel Dupree. Actress Raven Bowens is stepping in for Precious Way and is expected to air sometime in late summer.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Precious Way has departed the role of Days of our Lives' Chanel Dupree, and word now is that the NBC soap opera has indeed hired a replacement to step into the shoes of Paulina's (Jacke Harry) wayward daughter.

The DAYS site Jason47 reports that actress Raven Bowens will now be playing the role of Chanel and will likely begin airing in late August or early September. Her previous credits include All Rise, Insecure, Mr. Student Body President, The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar, and Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader 4: Cheerleader Undercover.

Bowens hails from Southeast San Diego, which she describes as a place where residents "barely see the beach" and instead see a lot of crime. "I grew up down the street from 'The 4 corners of death,' named because multiple people were murdered on all of those corners," she recently wrote on Instagram. "The environments & experiences that have helped shape us are FULL & complex."

Precious Way joined the cast of DAYS earlier this year and immediately made a mark as Chanel, who's quite the troublemaker. The actress/rapper boarded the series Partners in Rhyme last fall and shared on Instagram this May that she and the cast had wrapped the first season, which also stars rapper MC Lyte. It's unclear at this time if her role in Partners in Rhyme is what led to her DAYS departure.
