WATCH: Kristian Alfonso appears in twisted post-Days of our Lives project

Well, Toto, Kristian Alfonso is certainly not in Salem anymore. The Days of our Lives star (ex-Hope Brady) is stirring up trouble in Ruby, part of Lifetime's adaptation of V.C. Andrews' dark Landry family saga.

If you're a Days of our Lives fan who preferred Hope Brady when she was a little bit naughty, then you're in for a wicked treat. Her former portrayer, Kristian Alfonso, is starring in the Lifetime movie Ruby, the first film in the network's upcoming adaptation of V.C. Andrews' very dark Landry family saga.

The four-part series is set to focus on Ruby Landry (Raechelle Banno), who is watched over by her loving Grandmere Catherine as love blooms between her and her high school sweetheart Paul Tate. Though Ruby is happy, lingering thoughts of her mysterious father and her mother's death often creep into her mind. To make matters worse, Ruby's beloved Grandmere passes away, and dark family secrets begin to reveal themselves when Paul's mother, Gladys -- played by Alfonso -- forbids him from seeing Ruby. The reason: Paul and Ruby are related! (This is a story by the same author who wrote Flowers in the Attic, after all.)

The saga continues with Ruby fleeing the Bayou and heading to New Orleans, where she searches for her estranged father -- one of the richest men in the city -- as she clings to her memories of Paul and their forbidden love.

As Soap Central previously reported, The Young and the Restless' Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair) will fill the role of Daphne Dumas, the wife of Ruby's estranged father, who isn't thrilled when Ruby shows up and disrupts her perfect life.

All of the above drama is way too much to fit into just one movie, so Lifetime has given the Landry family saga four parts. The dark and twisted event will kick off with Ruby on Saturday, March 20, which will be followed by Pearl in the Mist on Sunday, March 21; All That Glitters on Saturday, March 27; and Hidden Jewels on Sunday, March 28.

Alfonso took to Instagram with the news about her part in Ruby, teasing, "I'm so happy I can finally share this with you all. I hear there's a storm coming!"
