Watch for Days of our Lives alum Casey Deidrick (ex-Chad DiMera) in the upcoming Hulu film Into the Dark: Tentacles, a horror that explores the dangers of losing yourself in early love.
Days of our Lives fans watched Casey Deidrick really come into his own as an actor in the role of Chad DiMera, which he played from 2009 to 2013. He fully immersed himself in the dark mind and world of the legacy Salemite, which perfectly prepared him for his most recent project: the next installment of Hulu's horror franchise Into the Dark.
Titled Into the Dark: Tentacles, the psychosexual horror-thriller stars Deidrick and actress Dana Drori as couple Sam and Tara, who fall head over heels into a new romance and entwine their lives -- until their intimacy transforms into something terrifying.
Variety reports that Tentacles takes inspiration from "the rushes of early intimacy and uncertain power dynamics at play, and the dangers of losing yourself." The film -- from a story by Alexandra Pechman and Nick Antosca, and a teleplay by Pechman -- will also present "a twist on gender roles in modern horror."

Also starring Evan Williams and Kasey Elise, Into the Dark: Tentacles is anchored to Valentine's Day and thus will premiere on Hulu on Friday, February 12.
Into the Dark is a horror anthology series produced for Hulu by Blumhouse Productions. Its first season premiered on October 5, 2018, and consisted of twelve feature-length episodes tied to annual holidays. The second season of Into the Dark premiered on October 4, 2019, and also consists of twelve holiday-themed episodes. Production paused on the franchise for most of last year due to COVID-19, with the series' most recently aired installment being The Current Occupant, which streamed in July 2020. Tentacles was produced under new COVID health and safety guidelines.
Soap fans who have been watching Hulu's Into the Dark saw another daytime star in the horror franchise. Reign Edwards (ex-Nicole Avant, The Bold and the Beautiful) was featured in a November 2019 episode titled Pilgrim. Inspired by actual events, the episode followed a woman who hired historical pilgrim re-enactors to join her for Thanksgiving and teach her family to better appreciate each other and their privilege. When the "actors" refuse to break character, the family learns that there is such a thing as too much gratitude.
Following Casey Deidrick's four-year run as DAYS' Chad, he went on to star in series like Eye Candy, Teen Wolf, and Driven. He also featured in the CW's comedy crime drama In the Dark (not to be confused with Into the Dark), which follows a young blind woman who tries to solve her friend's murder.
