Days of our Lives' Jen Lilley celebrates second adoption

Enthusing that her "heart is full," Days of our Lives and Hallmark star Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa Donovan) is celebrating the official adoption of her foster son, Jeffrey.

Fabulous news from Days of our Lives' Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa Donovan): the actress and her husband, Jason Wayne, have been able to make the adoption of their second foster son, Jeffrey, official.

Lilley took to Instagram to share the heartwarming news. She posted a photo of the little boy in a warm embrace between herself and Wayne along with the caption, "The most special day. We love you, Jeffrey! Thank you @togetherwerise for capturing these [photos]. My heart is full."

This is the second time that Lilley and Wayne are celebrating an adoption. The couple adopted Jeffrey's biological older brother, Kayden, in June of 2019. In a celebratory photo much like the one with Jeffrey, Lilley and Wayne held their eldest son along with a sign that read: "I spent 984 days in foster care but today I am adopted."

In addition to Jeffrey and Kayden, Lilly is the mother of a biological daughter, Julie Evangeline, who was born on July 30, 2019. Prior to her pregnancy announcement and the arrival of Julie, Lilley opened up about having suffered a miscarriage back in 2018.

As Soap Central previously reported, Lilley has continuously been a big advocate for children in foster care. She hosted a talent contest earlier this year to raise funds for foster children; she joined Dr. John DeGarmo, foster care expert and founder and director of The Foster Care Institute, in Washington, DC, to lobby for a healthier reunification process to strengthen families, children, and their caretakers; she is donating all of the proceeds from her latest album, Hindsight, to children in need; and she launched a weekly podcast called Fostering Hope, which aims to help normalize and support adoptive families, foster ethical practices, and champion for safe, loving families for children in need.

Lilley played the role of DAYS' Theresa from 2013 until 2018 and briefly filled in for Kirsten Storms as General Hospital's Maxie from 2011 until 2012. She has since become a major Hallmark star with films like Paris, Wine & Romance; A Dash of Love; Winter Love Story; Mingle All the Way; Harvest Love; and Eat, Play, Love. She can next be seen in the network's USS Christmas, which premieres on Saturday, November 28.
