Vanessa Williams is reportedly reprising her role as Days of our Lives' Dr. Valerie Grant just in time for the second wedding between her son, Eli (Lamon Archey), and Lani (Sal Stowers).
Days of our Lives is bringing back a few fan-favorite family members for the upcoming nuptials between Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price (Sal Stowers), Vanessa Williams being one of them. Soaps reports that the actress will be stepping back into the role of Dr. Valerie Grant, who will be returning to Salem for her son's wedding festivities.
As Soap Central reported earlier today, Williams will be joining two other wedding guests who will be attending Eli and Lani's nuptials: Marilyn McCoo and her husband, Billy Davis Jr., will be reprising their roles as Lani's mother, Tamara Price, and Eli's former FBI mentor, Billy, respectively.

Williams first took on the role of Valerie in October of 2016, when the cardiologist came back to Salem to help save Abe's (James Reynolds) life. She left the role in 2018, when Valerie took a job as chief of staff at her old hospital in Washington, DC. She briefly returned to Salem in May 2019 to visit Abe, whom she'd been dating long-distance, and found out that he had kissed Sheila Watkins (Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins) in her absence. Valerie broke up with Abe over the indiscretion and wasn't seen again until she came to help Eli after his spring wedding with Gabi (Camila Banus) didn't work out.
