Will Nicole come clean and reveal that Mackenzie Horton is really Rachel Black? Days of our Lives actress Arianne Zucker opens up about her Salem alter ego's impossible choice.
Things are about to get complicated for Days of our Lives' Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), who is slowly starting to realize that little baby Mickey, who is currently being raised by Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Eric (Greg Vaughan), is actually Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen's (Stacy Haiduk) daughter, Rachel. Revealing the whopper of a secret could lead to devastating consequences, including throwing Eric's life into turmoil -- which Nicole doesn't want to see happen. So, what will the notoriously bad girl do with this baby swap information? Will she selfishly keep the big secret to herself, or will she come clean even though it has the potential to destroy her own happiness, as well?
In a new interview with TV Insider, Zucker opens up about what Nicole is thinking, pointing out that the character has made great moral strides in recent years -- which could influence the direction the story takes.
"Nicole has been shifting to the sides of being more balanced than she used to be. She has Eric in her life. She doesn't want to screw that up. [Finding out about Mackenzie/Rachel] means that she has to get in the middle of something. Darn it!" she says with a laugh. "I kind of love that this character has made adjustments. It's nice to see characters change throughout life. It's pretty cool. But I think she feels very uncomfortable that the person she loves with all her heart [Eric] could be hurt in all this. Nicole is holding the cards. How do you not want to know?"

Though she's unable to say outright which way Nicole will lean in the end, the actress seems to hint that viewers will once again see the character stepping up to the plate and making the mature decision.
"I think Nicole is in the middle of two things," she explains. "It's human nature, in some ways, to be selfish. I think it's common for people to do what's best for them. I like to believe that there's a lot of good in people and they'll choose to do the right thing. Maybe 40 percent of people choose to do the right thing? Nicole has been caught up so many times in doing the wrong thing. This time, it's about doing the right thing."
