DAYS rehires Nadia Bjorlin on contract

Days of our Lives fans can look forward to Chloe Lane returning to Salem full-time, because portrayer Nadia Bjorlin has reportedly rejoined the NBC soap opera with a contract.

Fans of Days of our Lives were beyond crushed when the NBC soap opera unexpectedly decided to ax popular star Nadia Bjorlin last year, bringing her time as Chloe Lane to a sad end. When the unsettling news broke, the actress assured her followers that her exit didn't seem like "a permanent thing," and it turns out she was right. Chloe is reportedly returning to Salem later this year!

According to set-side sources, Bjorlin will be back on set filming as her longtime alter ego the first week of March, meaning she's likely to start airing in early autumn. But the best part is that she won't just be back for a short storyline arc -- she has reportedly been rehired on contract.

There's no word yet as to what will bring Chloe back to the canvas, but Bjorlin is no doubt thrilled for the opportunity to reprise the character she originally took on in 1999. When she left the show in 2019, she made it clear that she views the NBC soap opera as her home.

"It's been an absolute honor and a privilege to be part of DAYS' legacy," she said at the time of her exit. "It's like family over there, and I thank them for all of the years of support. And I thank the fans who've rooted for Chloe every step of the way, no matter what she's done -- good or bad!"

She also surmised that Chloe would be back as soon as the powers that be had a plan in store for the character. "I didn't feel like it was a permanent thing, and they didn't really present it that way," she said of her exit. "They just said, 'We're just not going to pick up your contract until we figure out what to do with you. [So] this is not a good-bye... This is 'See you next time!'"

News of Bjorlin's new contract status may come as a surprise to many DAYS fans, who are still reeling from the soap's recent decision to cut several popular, longtime stars, including Freddie Smith (Sonny Kirakis), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), and Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez).
