Fans of last year's hit Netflix film To the Beat! may burst into spontaneous dance moves when they hear the latest news connected to the teen dance flick: a sequel is coming, and the trailer has already dropped!
Called To the Beat! Back 2 School, the sequel brings back former Days of our Lives star Jillian Clare (ex-Abigail Deveraux) in the role of director. The film combines the familiarity of dance from the initial film, plus adds singing and acting, as the story takes its leads, Mackie (Laura Krystine), Mia (Brisa Lalich), and Avery (Jayden Bartels) -- plus all of their friends and enemies -- into their performing arts school for more fun, drama, and the biggest competition of their young lives.
Daytime stars Eric Martsolf (Brady Black, DAYS), Martha Madison (Belle Black, DAYS), Marie Wilson (ex-Summer Townsend, DAYS; ex-Meg Snyder, As the World Turns), and Lilly Melgar (ex-Lily Corinthos, General Hospital; ex-Claudia Cortez, The Bold and the Beautiful) are all reprising their roles from the original film -- and taking things to the next level in the sequel.

"Martha Madison is back as Clare and is still just as obsessed with Paula Abdul. She gets her moment in the limelight when she chaperones the Spring Fling," teases a rep for the film. "Eric Martsolf (Michael), is going through a rough time, Marie Wilson (Camila) continues to support the twins and meets up with Clare at the Spring Fling to help chaperone, Lilly (Ana Sophia) gives her niece Mackie (Laura Krystine) some heartfelt advice from afar and Jillian Clare (Ruby) takes on the role of Ruby, the school secretary, in addition to directing the film."
Other returning stars include Jake Brennan and Trevor Larcom, while new additions include The Young and the Restless' Bianca & Chiara D'ambrosio (ex-Summer Newman), Hayden Summerall, Bryce Xavier, Casey Simpson, Jillian Shea Spaeder, Gabe De Guzman, Sydney Bourne, Emily Faucret, Betsy Randle, Keith Powell, Peter Allen Vogt, Adam Chambers, and Jillian Clare as Ruby, the school secretary.
"The To the Beat! fans have patiently waited for a sequel and they won't be disappointed," says Clare. "We've assembled the most talented teens and adults to bring this comical (drama filled) story to life -- the teaser is just a slight glimpse of the fun film coming out next year!"
To the Beat! Back 2 School is being produced by Susan Bernhardt, and her company Leonian Pictures, alongside Clare's own production company, Whimsical Entertainment. The film is set for a spring 2020 worldwide release by Vision Films.
