Emmy-winning soap opera head writer Ron Carlivati will be working with his dad on Days of our Lives, which just cast the scribe's father -- who is a DAYS superfan -- in the guest-starring role of a doctor.
Ron Carlivati has made millions of Days of our Lives fans happy with the re-addition of fan favorite characters like Jack Deveraux and Vivian Alamain, but his latest character addition is near and dear to his own heart: the head writer's father has been added to the cast!
The Emmy-winner took to social media to share that his real-life father has been cast as an extra on the soap and will appear as a doctor on this Friday's episode of DAYS.
"Paging Dr. Carlivati!" the long-time soap opera writer tweeted. "Look for my superfan dad to appear as an extra this Friday."

As fans can see in the photo, the senior Carlivati posed with DAYS star Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady) -- and it's quite possible that he'll be appearing alongside her, Susan Seaforth-Hayes, and Lauren Koslow in scenes, given Julie and Kate's recent health issues. The official teaser for the episode reads: "Kayla reveals to Gabi, Eli, and Lani that Julie isn't out of the woods just yet."
Carlivati has shared before that his dad is a huge DAYS fan and never misses an episode. Watch for his appearance on Friday, October 18.
