A historic Grey's Anatomy episode served as the premiere for Days of our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful alum Lorenzo Caccialanza, who has signed on to the medical drama as Dr. Andrew DeLuca's father, Vincenzo.
Grey's Anatomy has been making headlines due to its record-breaking 332nd episode, which officially makes the show the longest-running primetime medical drama in history. But the primetime soap is making headlines for a different reason, as well: it has cast daytime alum Lorenzo Caccialanza as Dr. Andrew DeLuca's dad, Vincenzo.
The actor stepped into the role during the final moments of last week's episode, titled "We Didn't Start the Fire," and according to Deadline, he will return in the coming weeks for a multi-episode arc.

Caccialanza likely looks pretty familiar to soap opera fans. The Italian actor played the recurring role of Nico on Days of our Lives from 2002 to 2005 and the recurring role of Portofino Mayor Signor Orio on The Bold and the Beautiful from 1997 to 2002. He also played the role of Nick Shillace on the primetime soap Knott's Landing from 1990 to 1993.
Additional information surrounding Vincenzo DeLuca's arc has yet to be revealed, but Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) narration upon his arrival sounded rather ominous. As Dr. DeLuca hesitantly hugged his father, she said: "Believe me when I say, the bad times are gonna find you all on their own."
