Catch DAYS' Shawn Christian in new Hallmark film

Days of our Lives' Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel Jonas) reunites with his stepdaughter, Taylor Cole, in Hallmark's Ruby Herring Mysteries: Silent Witness.

Days of our Lives' Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel Jonas) has a new film about to debut, and the project sounds like it has given him just as much murder and intrigue as any good Salem story: the daytime alum stars in Ruby Herring Mysteries: Silent Witness, a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original that also happens to star the actor's real-life stepdaughter, Taylor Cole.

According to the film's official description, Cole stars as Ruby, a television consumer reporter who is attending her sister's wedding at a picturesque mountain resort in Seattle. When she gets entangled in a murder mystery after an old friend is found to have drowned under suspicious circumstances, she takes the advice of her father, John Herring (Christian), a legendary investigative crime reporter, and begins conducting an unorthodox investigation alongside Jake Killian (Stephen Huszar). With the devilishly handsome, by the-book Seattle P.D. homicide detective taking the lead, Ruby must find a way to crack the case before the wrong person is sent up for murder, and before the real killer strikes again."

Christian posted a photo of himself alongside Cole, who is his stepdaughter via his now-ended marriage to her mother, Deborah Quinn. The photo's caption reads: "One of us got 1st place & the other got the 2nd place bottle of maple syrup for being first on set during filming...Can you guess who?"

Ruby Herring Mysteries: Silent Witness is set to premiere on Sunday, January 20, at 9:00 PM ET/PT on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Christian got his start in soap operas as As the World Turns' Mike Kasnoff, which he played from 1995 to 1997. He later went on to play the role of DAYS' Daniel from 2008 to 2017. After departing the NBC series, he starred in the film Last Seen in Idaho as well as in the Freeform series Famous in Love. He most recently appeared in ABC's The Rookie opposite One Life to Live alum Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan).
