Days of our Lives' Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) and Drake Hogestyn (John Black) are both celebrating anniversaries with the NBC soap.
Days of our Lives stars and fan favorites Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) and Drake Hogestyn (John Black) have a very special reason to celebrate: both are marking special anniversaries with the NBC soap.
Koslow, who joined the show in the role of powerful businesswoman Kate Roberts in 1996, has now been a part of the fabric of Salem for a full twenty-two years, an occasion DAYS writer Sheri Anderson took to Twitter to celebrate.
"Kate was one of the last characters I created before the incredible Jim Reilly was brought to DAYS," the scribe writes. "She was created for Debra Adair [who played the role from 1993 to 1995], but I love the flavor and textures @LaurenKoslow brings to the role. And she's still bringing it -- 22 years later!"

Anderson also took to Twitter to celebrate another Salem staple: John Black (Hogestyn), whom she helped to bring to Salem in 1986.
"One of our most iconic castings appeared in Salem 32 years ago today," she tweeted. "Proud to have been a part of this! And thrilled to still be writing for him today. Happy anniversary @DrakeHogestyn!"
Hogestyn, who will be making his first non-DAYS television appearance in over two decades on the March 14 episode of Criminal Minds, answered Anderson's kind words with a few of his own.
"Thank you @sheriawriter for bringing me aboard this amazing team!" he wrote. "@DaysofourLives @nbcdays & all the #daysfans that kept me in Salem"
In response, Anderson wrote: "One of my most rewarding contributions to the show that will always be 'home'. Could not be happier to still have you here, Drake!"
Funnily enough, even though Kate and John have both lived in Salem at the same time for almost a quarter of a century, they haven't had much significant overlap outside a short-lived engagement that fell through when their presumed-dead spouses, Roman and Marlena, made surprise returns.
Would you like to leave congratulatory messages for Koslow and Hogestyn? Do you wish Kate and John had had more overlapping story in the past two decades? Do you think the characters would have made a good couple, had their significant others not returned years and years ago? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
