Days of our Lives' Maria Tornberg, who just debuted in Salem this week as Agent Reznik, lived through the unthinkable when an intruder broke into her home.
Days of our Lives fans are just getting to know Agent Reznik, the stunning undercover ISA operative who brought Rafe (Galen Gering) news about Stefano this week in Prague. But they're getting to know Reznik's portrayer, Maria Tornberg, in an up-close-and-personal way due to a horrific tragedy the actress has suffered.
The Swedish actress lived through the unimaginable last September when an intruder broke into her home, forcing her to jump out of a high second-story window in order to save her life. Having landed on pavement, Tornberg shattered both her heels, broke both her hands, and fractured a vertebra in her spine. And now she needs your help.
"After a long hospital stay, I am faced with being wheelchair-bound and heal for 4-6 months before I get back on my feet again, and that's just where the physical rehabilitation and real work begins for me," she explains on a Go Fund Me page asking for financial support. "For an uncertain amount of time, I won't be able to work. I require assistance 24 hours a day. I am humbly asking for your donation. To get me back on my feet. I need help to survive."

She continues, "The funds will pay for rent, food and bills for myself and my caretaker for the next 6 months. The medical bills are mounting beyond comprehension, my bank account is tapped and I'm desperate... I'm unable to care for myself. I'm stuck in my bed. I can't accomplish the simplest of tasks on my own. Your donation will allow me to focus on healing in my home surrounded by my animals without the fear of loosing my home, without worrying of ending up in a nursing home."
Despite her desperate situation, Tornberg is trying to stay positive. "Not only will I walk again but I will run again," she promises. "I will dance, I will act and shoot [photographs] again. I will be stronger than ever. I will get back on my feet."
