ROUGH CUTS: The OMG move Marci Miller made to land DAYS

Marci Miller opens up about the huge risk she took just before booking the role of Days of our Lives' Abigail Deveraux.

When Days of our Lives' Marci Miller spoke with Soap Central upon taking over the role of Abigail Deveraux earlier this year, she shared that life wasn't exactly going to plan prior to landing her role on the NBC soap. In fact, she was at her wit's end -- which prompted her to take an OMG action she never expected.

"Last year at this time, I was working in a restaurant, and I was super depressed," she shares. "I was like, Man, this is such a bummer. I don't want to work at a restaurant.' And I came home and told my husband, I think I'm going to quit my job.' He was very supportive, and I did -- I quit. And we didn't know how we were going to pay our bills, and we just trusted that everything was going to work out."

As luck would have it, the risky move paid off for the Indiana native. Just weeks after she threw in the towel at her restaurant job, the acting gigs started rolling in.

"I booked a movie, and while I was out of town for that, I booked another movie, and then when I was out of town for that, I booked another movie, and then when I was out of town for that, I booked DAYS," she says. "So it was just a crazy succession over about eight months."

She continues, "I don't know what it was, if it was coincidence or if it had anything to do with putting a different kind of intention and belief into the universe, I don't know. Or maybe it was just luck. Sometimes we just don't know. Who knows why some things work out sometimes and sometimes they don't -- I wish I knew!"
