Days of our Lives' Jamie Lyn Bauer is returning to the role of Laura Horton, and she says the material is really something she can sink her teeth into.
Heads up, Days of our Lives fans: a familiar face is heading back to Salem, and it sounds like the story could get viewers buzzing.
As previously reported, Jamie Lyn Bauer is returning to the role of Laura Spencer Horton beginning Friday, September 2, and she tells Soap Opera Digest the material is really something special.
"I had dialogue and scenes I could sink my teeth into," she raves of the story she shares with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), who just signed over custody of his son to Laura's daughter, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). "[Billy] was so adorable. As Laura, I had to be really rough on him. We had a scene where he had one tear that went down his downstage cheek. I went, All right, Billy!' It was just about the most perfect tear I have ever witnessed."

Unfortunately, Bauer's return came at a time when she was recovering from a "torn ligament that holds your toes in place," so she had to use a scooter to get around the studio. Ironically, DAYS star Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez) hurt her foot during an exercise class this week and had to ask the powers that be to go easy on her during blocking.
Bauer, who last appeared in Salem in 2010, is also known for her role as The Young and the Restless' Lorie Brooks. When news of her DAYS return first broke back in March, she revealed she'd be on the canvas for a handful of episodes with the likely possibility of more.
