Queen Sugar, the new OWN drama featuring Days of our Lives' alum Greg Vaughan (ex-Eric Brady) and All My Children alum Dondr Whitfield (ex-Terence Frye), will be coming to the screen this September.
Exciting news for fans of Days of our Lives' alum Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady; ex-Lucky Spencer, General Hospital) and All My Children alum Dondr T. Whitfield (ex-Terence Frye)! Their new primetime series, Queen Sugar, has set its fall debut date.
Based on a novel by Natalie Baszile, the drama is slated to premiere on Oprah Winfrey's network, OWN, on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 6 and September 7, at 10PM EST. It will then move to its regularly scheduled spot at 10PM EST on Wednesday evenings for the remainder of the thirteen-episode season, Deadline reports.
As Soap Central previously reported, Queen Sugar follows the lives of two sisters: Nova Bordelon (Rutina Wesley), a tough journalist and activist from New Orleans, and Charley Bordelon (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), a mother who uproots her life in Los Angeles and moves herself and her teenage son, Micah, to Louisiana to claim an inheritance from her recently departed father -- an 800-acre sugarcane farm.
Winfrey will have a recurring role on the series that also stars Kofi Siriboe, Tina Lifford, Omar Dorsey, and Timon Kyle Durrett.
