Deidre Hall marks 40th anniversary of her first Days of our Lives appearance

Deidre Hall has been bringing Marlena Evans to life for 40 years. The actress recently took soapcentral.com on a walk down memory lane -- and the actress shared an amazing video that summarizes her time in Salem.

This week marked the 40th anniversary of Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) making her very first appearance on Days of our Lives. To commemorate the occasion, Hall took to Facebook to share a bit of a walk down memory lane.

On June 21, 1976, Dr. Marlena Evans was the psychiatrist treating Mickey Horton. From there, Marlena became involved in some of DAYS' most talked about stories: the Salem Stalker, grieving the loss of a child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, an infamous possession -- and for a while, we even thought she'd killed sweet Alice Horton. And then there are all the epic romances Marlena has seen.

Last month, Soap Central had a chance to sit down and talk to Deidre about receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actress also discussed her time on DAYS and even shared with us some of the stories she'd like to see for her character.
