Ratings for the last week of May were disastrous for NBC's Days of our Lives, while General Hospital was the only soap to gain in total viewers and key demographics.
Temperatures may be on the rise at the moment, but the same can't be said for ratings on most of the daytime soap operas.
The numbers are out for the week of May 23 through May 27, and NBC's Days of our Lives took some nasty hits in total numbers. According to Nielsen Live Plus Same Day data, the long running drama hit multiple all-time lows for the week, managing to pull in only 2,081,000 total viewers. The series' previous all-time low was 2,154,00 viewers for the week of April 13 through April 17 of 2015. What's more, DAYS also hit all-time lows in the key women's demos 18-34 and 18-49.
Meanwhile, CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless fell a whopping 122,000 and The Bold and the Beautiful fell 77,000 in total viewers from the week prior.

However, it's not bad news across the board. ABC's General Hospital, which featured its popular Nurses Ball event, increased by 122,000 viewers (ironically the same number that tuned out from Y&R), bringing its total up to 2,886,000. The series was also the only one to increase in the key women's demos 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54.
In addition, even though Y&R and B&B saw a drop in ratings for the week, the month of May was actually quite successful for both CBS shows. B&B saw its highest May Sweeps ratings since 2008, while Y&R saw its highest May Sweeps ratings since 2009.
