After months of searching for a replacement for Kate Mansi, Days of our Lives has finally found its new Abigail Deveraux in actress Marci Miller.
Replacing Kate Mansi hasn't been easy for Days of our Lives, which has reportedly been on the hunt for a young actress to take on the role of Abigail Deveraux for several months now. But it looks like the powers that be have finally struck gold. The NBC soap has cast Marci Miller as the beloved character.
EW reports that the actress, who has appeared in projects like Dog Bowl, XOXO, Death Race 2050, and -- funny enough -- About Abigail, began taping her episodes today and will debut later this fall. She must be one dynamite actress, because the casting notice requested "very, very strong actors" when it went out months ago.
As previously reported, Mansi decided to walk away from the role she took on in 2011 to try her hand at other projects. "After much thought, I've decided the timing was right for me to set sail from Salem," the actress wrote when news of her upcoming exit first broke. "I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every single beautiful and messy moment of being Abigail, and will always treasure our time together."
