Guess who's bringing Days of our Lives' Jack Deveraux back from the dead... or maybe not so dead? Matthew Ashford, of course!
Days of our Lives' 50th anniversary may be over, but the show's recent slew of returning actors doesn't seem to be coming to a halt. Who's the next big name on the list of blasts from the past? Matthew Ashford, who will soon be resuming the role of Abigail's dad, Jack Deveraux.
TV Insider reports that the character, who was pronounced dead in an elevator crash in August of 2012, is set to make a short return in the spring of next year. But will he be coming back for real, or just in spiritual form? The answer to that remains to be seen, but the series' executive producer, Ken Corday, recently swore to the press that no more characters would be coming back from the dead, so... make of that what you will.
Ashford reportedly begins work at the NBC set today, November 30, and will be appearing in five episodes slated to air next spring.
News of Ashford's return comes on the same day as word of Greg Vaughan's exit as Eric Brady. For more on Vaughan's departure, click here.
