Days of our Lives will no longer be all about Eve: portrayer Kassie DePaiva has confirmed that she is leaving the NBC soap.
Hot on the heels of the news that Days of our Lives' Shawn Christian will soon be exiting his role as Dr. Daniel Jonas comes word that Kassie DePaiva will be exiting her role as love-to-hate Eve Donovan.
"As the sand runs out of my hourglass over at DAYS... I have no regrets," DePaiva shared on her personal web site. "I had a truly remarkable experience there. From the beginning as Eve showed up in town and throughout her bumpy ride through Salem it has all been a good time for me. I got to work with people that I have admired for many years. I especially want to thank Melissa Reeves, True O'Brien, Casey Moss, Jen Lilley, Wally Kurth, and A Martinez."
Eve's exit is said to be unrelated to the Necktie Killer storyline and comes at a time when the long-time favorite actress has been receiving universal praise for her work on DAYS. The actress received special recognition in the Soap Central Two Scoops commentary for the week of September 21.

"It saddens me to have been let go from the show just as Eve was finally finding her footing... But that is the way the Soap business goes," DePaiva added. "Characters come and go just as actors, writers, and producers. Some we love... Some we hate... But fortunately for all of us the stories still go on. Keep watching and here's to 50 more years of Days of our Lives!!!"
DePaiva joined DAYS last year in the role of Shane Donovan's daughter, a role previously played by Charlotte Ross from 1987 to 1991. It is unclear at this time when the actress will make her final appearance.
Serial Scoop first reported DePaiva's exit.
