EXCLUSIVE: Deidre Hall joins cast of Club 5150

Days of our Lives favorite Deidre Hall will guest star in the new digital series Club 51/50. Hall is a three-time Emmy nominee.

Days of our Lives icon Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) has joined the cast of the upcoming digital series Club 51/50, Soap Central has learned.

Hall will play the role of Nadine, a role that may surprise a lot of Hall's DAYS fans. Nadine is "poor but never broke, down but never out -- a tough fighterwho only wants to see her children do better in life than she did," according to Club 51/50's executive producer and creator Steve Silverman.

Silverman made the announcement live on Kroll Call, a weekly Internet radio show hosted by Soap Central's Dan J Kroll.

This will mark the second time that Hall and Silverman have worked together. Their paths crossed previously on the web series Dating In The Middle Ages.

"So Deidre Hall is going to play my mother in law on @Club5150Series," shared actor/producer Michael Caruso on Twitter after the announcement. "HELL YES."

Hall joins previously announced Club 51/50 cast members Eden Riegel (Bianca Montgomery, All My Children), Jennifer Elise Cox, Michael Caruso (creator of the Emmy-nominated series Devanity and the forthcoming digital series Winterthorne), Crystal Carson (ex-Julia Barrett, General Hospital), and Ray Proscia. Additional casting announcements will be made on Fridays on the Club 51/50 Twitter account, @Club5150series.

Filming of Club 51/50 is set to begin in August, and the series is scheduled for release in early fall.

You can listen to the Deidre Hall announcement being made in the archived Kroll Call podcast below. It comes at around the 45-minute mark. At the 25-minute mark, Chef Troy Gagliardo offers up some tips to make your next backyard barbecue a hit. The show kicks off with Denise Soler Cox and Henry Ansbacher of Project Enye, a new documentary project to help first generation Americans with a parent(s) from a Spanish-speaking country.
