Kids Incorporated seems to be the theme at DAYS; the soap may be planning to age two of its young characters.
Soap opera rapid aging syndrome may soon be hitting Days of our Lives' Salem. Two casting announcements appear to be for the grown-up roles of Joey and Theo.
Soap Opera Digest reports that the NBC series has released a casting call for a rebellious, 16-year-old hottie to play Joey, who could be the grown son of Patch (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). The character details say Joey struggles with resentment and abandonment issues, which would make sense, considering his parents filed for divorce back in 2012.
If the casting call is indeed for the Joey fans love and know, will his father, Patch, also be making a return? It would certainly make for a fun 50th anniversary surprise, as Nichols hasn't been seen on-screen since early 2009.
Meanwhile, the show is reportedly looking for a 16-year-old African American male with autism, who is high-functioning -- which sounds a lot like a SORASed version of Abe's son, Theo Carver (Terrell Ransom Jr.). Could the series find its match via its recent partnership with the American Black Film Festival? Looks like viewers will have to wait and see!
What do you think of the possibility that DAYS could be SORASing Joey and Theo? And would you like to see Patch return to Salem? Share your thoughts in the Comments section below, on our message boards, or by submitting Feedback.
