DAYS henchman helps other actors hone their craft

Steve Blackwood, known as DiMera henchman Bart Beiderbecke on Days of our Lives, will be signing his acting handbook and offering a master class in acting in Framingham, MA, on March 12.

As a loyal DiMera henchman, Steve Blackwood (Bart Beiderbecke) appeared on Days of our Lives from 1997 until 2007. Now he's offering up wisdom gained from over thirty years of acting experience in his book, Steve Blackwood Sessions.

In the book, Blackwood combines what he learned from studying with master acting teachers with his own knowledge of acting to offer a practical guide for both beginning and working actors. The book may be aimed at actors, but Blackwood describes it as "an all around great read for soap fans and non-actors as well." It details Blackwood's interaction with actors through the years, including his time on Days of our Lives, actual dialogue with students, and show business tips.

In addition to his DAYS role, Blackwood has appeared in television shows and films including Judging Amy, Ed Gein, Cedar Rapids, Machine Gun Preacher, and Mooz-lum. He's also starred in many theater productions and is an accomplished jazz singer. His new film, Beyond the Mask, about the plot to kill George Washington will be out in the fall of 2014.

Blackwood will be doing a book signing for Steve Blackwood Sessions at the Framingham, MA, Barnes & Noble on Wed March 12 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. As part of the event, he'll be teaching a free acting master class.
