Will James Scott's E.J. move out of Salem to a chateau in France? Or maybe he'll take up raising sheep in New Zealand. In a new interview, Scott reveals that he's mulled the idea of giving up acting and leaving the U.S. Scott joined Days of our Lives in 2006.

Days of our Lives heartthrob James Scott (E.J. DiMera) has revealed that he is thinking about his post-daytime career. The actor hasn't confirmed that he's exiting Days of our Lives in the near future -- but he hasn't entirely ruled it out either.

"I'm not entirely sure. I think I'm going to stay here for a little bit longer," Scott told TVGuide Canada. "We got the pickup and my contract is for a little longer. Then I'm going to wait to see what happens after that."

According to Scott, he's mulled the idea of giving up on acting and moving out of the United States -- possibly to New Zealand or France.

"I'm not sure if I will continue to act, which is very likely. These are things I'm thinking in my head," Scott added. "A lot of this depends on where I'd like to live next.

James Scott joined Days of our Lives in 2006. Prior to that, the actor appeared for two years as Ethan Cambias on ABC's All My Children.

Scott's daytime work on DAYS earned him an Outstanding Lead Actor nomination at the 2010 Daytime Emmys.
