Frances Fisher moves in next to DAYS' Sami

Days of our Lives has landed a casting coup of its own. The NBC soap has reached a deal with film and TV vet Frances Fisher that will have the actress moving to Salem -- and right next door to Sami Brady. Fisher debuts im February.

Television and movie vet Frances Fisher has been cast in a short-term role on Days of our Lives. The actress will play the role of Gladys, Sami's neighbor. It's just the latest high-profile casting move by a daytime drama series.

Fisher has appeared in the blockbuster box office flicks Titanic, The House of Sand and Fog, and The Kingdom, among others. On television, Fisher is known for role on Becker, Eureka, and The Shield. The actress recently made guest spots on Sons of Anarchy and The Good Guys.

This isn't the first time that Fisher has appeared on a soap. In fact, the actress, like many other Hollywood vets, get her start in daytime. In the late 1970s, Fisher appeared as Deborah Saxon on Edge of Night. In 1985, she appeared as Suzette on Guiding Light.

Fisher makes her DAYS debut February 17, 2011.
