Evolution of Snapper's character on The Young and The Restless over the years
The first time audiences met with Snapper Foster, he was a young medical student. While he was still studying to be a doctor, Snapper's personal life was woven with emotional turmoil as he was simultaneously drawn to both the characters of Sally McGuire and Chris Brooks.
Snapper was also shown to be quite close to his mother, Liz Foster, who had been left to fend for herself after her husband and Snapper's father, William Foster, became estranged and left his own family. Snapper, therefore, took upon himself the responsibility of raising his sister, Jill Foster, while also accompanying his mother.
As the show progressed, tragedy struck Chris as she was s*xually assaulted. Snapper provided Chris with some comfort while pursuing the course of justice to convict the perpetrator. The drama in Snapper's life continued, nevertheless, as he was still seeing Sally at this point and was having an affair with her. When Stuart Brooks, Chris's father, got wind of this, he promptly tried to dissuade his daughter from having a relationship with Snapper.
Things eventually came to a confrontation that led to Snapper leaving Sally in favor of Chris. Snapper didn't know then that Sally was pregnant with their child. He eventually ended up marrying Chris and had a family, but his domestic life was interrupted by Sally giving birth to his child, whom she named Pierre 'Chuckie' Charles. Chris was unable to reconcile herself with the fact that her husband had fathered a child outside their marriage. In a bid to get revenge, Chris inflicted a forced miscarriage on herself and separated from Snapper.
With the passage of time, Snapper and Chris then came together once again on The Young and The Restless. This was after his long-estranged father reconnected with Snapper and his mother. Snapper eventually had a foster daughter with Chris before having their own daughter named Jennifer Elizabeth Foster.
Sally and her son Chuckie came back into Snapper's life one more time when Chuckie was in the throes of illness. After bidding farewell to Sally, Snapper briefly returned to Genoa City in 2003 and once again for a few episodes in 2013. The last mention of him was made on The Young and The Restless when Jill was said to be undergoing medication in London with Snapper.
