Beyond The Gates has already made daytime soap opera history by being the first new show to make its debut broadcast since 1999. Karla Mosley's Dani Dupree is the sort of character that would go to any extent to safeguard her own agency and would not respond kindly to anyone who wrongs her. Being starkly opposite to her sister, Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, Dani has always listened to her heart and exercised her force of will.

As per the character's backstory, Dani gave up attending school at an early age to pursue her love of modeling. She eventually was successful as a model but decided to quit her career after marrying her ex-husband, attorney Bill Hamilton.

Dani sacrificed her modeling career to care for her two daughters, Naomi and Chelsea. Her marriage with Bill broke down after she discovered his affair with his secretary, Hayley. She is intensely attached to her daughters and even worked as a "momager," or the manager of her daughter's career in the entertainment industry.

As can be fairly said, Dani didn't take too kindly to being jilted by her ex-husband. She eventually showed up to his marriage with Hayley with a gold-plated gun and left the scene in handcuffs.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Karla Mosley opened up about the experience of playing Dani through the explosive wedding scene that was the highlight of the most recent episode of Beyond The Gates. She revealed:

"I felt inside the ramping up of her despair, having to be forced to be at this wedding and watching this man, who she loves with everything and gave up everything for, marrying someone who she thought of as a daughter, who's also younger and beautiful. All these things that are just so frightening, I think, to women in middle age as their kids get older. I just felt like a total pressure cooker the whole time."
