Beyond The Gates seems to have hit the ball out of the park during its first week of being on the air. As per a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, Beyond The Gates has been bringing in approximately 2.28 million viewers across all platforms, including broadcast television and streaming. This phenomenal success of Beyond The Gates has enabled the show to compete with another iconic show i.e., General Hospital.

Here's everything that we know about the success of Beyond The Gates.

Beyond The Gates gives General Hospital a run for their money

There is no doubt that General Hospital has been the prized possession of ABC since it is based on this show that the network counts most of its ratings. Until now, it was expected that General Hospital would be at the top of the list regarding the most-watched shows on TV, across different platforms. However, soon after its recent release on February 24 on CBS, Beyond The Gates has proved to be a worthy contender.

The numbers really speak for themselves. It has now been revealed that Beyond The Gates has been particularly successful in the demographic group, including adults and women aged between 25 and 54, beating General Hospital to the top.

Over the course of three days, the show has grossed more than two million views, with an additional 272,000 viewers being attributed by streaming of the show. It has also been projected that the show has been able to reach as many as 5.2 million viewers, most of whom must have watched a little bit of the narrative.

The reason behind this exceptional success enjoyed by the CBS show is the fact that the show is the only daytime soap opera specifically focused on African Americans. This is the first time such a show has made it to daytime programming in thirty years. It has also found a dedicated following among the African American community owing to a market that has, until recently, been underserved.

What's the latest buzz about Beyond The Gates?

The CBS show is a joint production of CBS Studios and NAACP Venture, which is led by Sheila Ducksworth. P&G Studios, owned by Procter & Gamble, is also a co-partner in the production. Michele Val Jean of The Bold and The Beautiful fame serves as the creator and showrunner.

The show succeeded The Talk on CBS and has already surpassed the viewership generated by the former talk show.
