While introducing new and explosive storylines, daily soaps often confuse fans by turning a character bad, sometimes even making them go wild and evil like Mr. Hyde.
These characters are initially introduced as innocent and smart individuals, just like Dr. Jekyll, but much like him, their circumstances or curiosity brings them to the other side of the good, which results in confusion among friends who can’t decide if these characters are good or bad, or will ever come back to being the considerate self they once were.
In this article, we have listed seven characters from daily soaps who have confused fans with their actions as they could not decide whether the character was good or bad.

The 7 characters from daily soaps that are hard to understand if they are good or bad
7) Adriana Cramer (One Life to Live)

Adriana Cramer (Melissa Fumero) was introduced as an innocent teenager in the One Life to Live daily soap. However, it all changes after she becomes insecure because of Rex and his ex-girlfriend Gigi’s friendly relationship. She even tried to keep them apart by plotting to bring back Brody Lovett, who was the father of Gigi’s unborn child.
She went to great lengths to keep Gigi and Rex apart but later confessed her lies to Rex, making her who can be good and bad sometimes.
6) Abi Branning (EastEnders)

Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) from EastEnders is a complicated character from daily soaps due to being troubled on occasion but thoughtful on other occasions.
For instance, she was the one who helped Ben stand up to his father, Phil Mitchell's girlfriend, Stella Crawford, who used to abuse him. But later, after her breakup with Jay, she becomes a violent and ruthless person as she beats up Lucy after finding out about her affair with her father, Max. Later, she also attacked Stacey, which concerned his father, Max, and her aunt, Carol Jackson.
5) Chrissie White (Emmerdale)
Another character from daily soaps, Chrissie White (Louise Marwood) from Emmerdale, has shown the tendencies of being a character who can be nice at times but also evil in some situations.
For instance, she, in a rage, tried to burn Robert’s car, which caused a huge helicopter crash and killed several people. She fled the village but came back to surrender for her crime. In another incident, Chrissie frames Andy for Lawrence’s shooting (who was actually shot by Lachlan, Chrissie’s son) after finding out that he was cheating on her.
4) Lexie Carver (Days of Our Lives)
Introduced as a police officer but later becomes a doctor, Lexie Carver was one of the good characters across daily soaps. However, it didn’t stay the same as she changed while living in Salem City.
Other than cheating on her husband with Brandon Walker and Trek Kramer, she also helped in several of Stefano DiMera's, her father’s illegitimate secret plots. For instance, she helped keep the secret that Stefano had switched Bo and Hope’s baby, Isaac, to be raised by her. Hope was Lexie’s best friend, but she still kept that secret to herself, betraying her friend or perhaps saving her from pain.
3) Drew Cain (General Hospital)

The character of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) from one of the most popular daily soaps, General Hospital, was well-liked. His complex character has done many good deeds in Port Charles, such as helping Franco through a nervous breakdown when he finds out about him being Drew and not the twin brother, Jason, in 2015.
However, his recent storyline has revealed more about his negative side after he convinces Willow to blackmail Sonny and Carly with Michael’s medical condition (he was in the hospital after suffering from severe burns) to get her kids back from them. Drew’s side of manipulating and scheming in Willow’s life has shown how bad the character can turn.
2) Todd Grimshaw (Coronation Street)
Todd Grimshaw from Coronation Street was one of the smart characters from daily soaps. Trying to sit for A-levels, he got into several relationships and later came out as gay.
He later went to London to turn his life around, which he successfully did by becoming a law clerk. However, after a hurtful breakup with Sam, his character turns around, and he loses his job and comes to Weatherfield. He was not the same Todd that had left the town as he became resentful and tried to cause problems in other people’s lives, such as causing Julie Carp and her boyfriend, Brian Packham, to break up after informing her about Brian taking a job at Wales.
However, in 2015, after finding out Jason was beaten by Callum Logan, he changed a little by showing concern for Jason and even volunteering to give his kidney to Jason. Todd keeps showing that he is complex and can be good or bad sometimes, which always puts the viewers on edge about his character.
1) Adam Newman (The Young and the Restless)

Introduced as Victor’s estranged son, Adam Newman aptly fits the personality of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde across daily soaps due to him being good sometimes and bad at other times.
For instance, he caused many problems for the Newmans, such as almost owning their business, firing his siblings, and later scheming with Jack Abbott to bring Victor down. However, he had also shown his softer side with Sharon and later Chelsea when he helped her give birth to her son, John, and also saved her life.
