The Young & The Restless is a popular television series that premiered in 1973. It depicts the daily life of many households in Genoa City. The presentation was originally 30 minutes long but expanded to an hour in 1980.

It has received several honors, including eleven Daytime Emmys. Y&R is the most popular daytime drama in the United States. 2025 saw numerous cast changes for The Young and the Restless.

There were some big performers off the stage. Their exit affected Genoa City and changed the plot. While some departures were expected, others caught readers off guard.

Characters left in many different ways. While some passed away carrying unresolved stories, others moved away. These shifts changed familial and corporate dynamics.

1. Colleen Zenk (Jordan Howard)

Colleen Zenk started her acting career in the 1970s. She became well-known as Barbara Ryan on As the World Turns, a part she performed for almost thirty years. She has also starred in numerous other theater and movies.

Colleen Zenk joined The Young and the Restless in 2024 as Jordan Howard. Jordan was a crook, and Ian Ward's friend. She controlled Claire and abducted Sharon Newman. As per the storyline, Jordan was poisoned at the Newman Ranch on January 24, 2025, ending her role on the show.


2. Linden Ashby (Cameron Kirsten)

Beginning his career in the late 1980s, Linden Ashby gained recognition for portraying Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat (1995). He acted in Army Wives, Melrose Place, and Teen Wolf. Ashby first played the role of Cameron Kirsten from 2003 to 2004, then he came back in 2023.

Originally playing Cameron Kirsten from 2003 to 2004, Linden Ashby came back in 2023. Cameron was a violent villain with past ties to Sharon Newman. He showered Sharon in hallucinations in 2024. Ashby left as Sharon got home, ending his plot on The Young & The Restless.


3. Ray Wise (Ian Ward)

Hollywood has seen respected actor Ray Wise since the 1970s. Having starred in Robocop, How I Met Your Mother, and Fresh Off the Boat, he is most famously Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks.

Renowned for Twin Peaks, Ray Wise portrayed Ian Ward, a cult leader driven against the Newmans by vengeance. On the prominent daily soap, The Young and the Restless, Ian sought to kill Victor Newman in January 2025 but was shot instead. Later paramedics verified his death, therefore terminating Wise's appearance on The Young & The Restless.
