On The Bold and the Beautiful, Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) was making quite a name for herself for almost a year. Everyone who worked with her at Forrester Creations thought she was one of their best interns.
R.J. Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) was head over heels in love with Luna and believed her good-girl act. His cousin, Zende Forrester Dominguez (Rome Flynn), was quite smitten with Luna, as well.
The usually critical-thinking Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) warmed up to Luna when a DNA test proved that she was the daughter he didn’t know he had. He moved Luna and her mother, Poppy (Romy Park), into his mansion and welcomed them into his family with open arms.

The problem was they—and the viewers—were all wrong. Luna turned out to be The Bold and the Beautiful’s new lunatic.
Girl gone wild
It turned out that Luna had been calculating her moves all along. When her crime spree came to a close, she had Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) locked in a cage inside a building about to be demolished. Sure that Steffy wouldn’t live another day to tell her tales, Luna spilled all her secrets.
Luna told Steffy that she had planted the seed in Bill and Poppy’s ears that Luna might be Bill’s daughter. Poppy, who would know better than anyone, even questioned the possibility, which eventually turned to wanting it to be true. From there, Luna doctored the DNA test that her aunt Li (Naomi Matsuda) administered to ensure the results were in her favor.
If only that pesky Tom Starr (Clint Howard—her actual father—hadn’t tried to wreck her plans to make Bill declared as her dad, maybe Tom would have lived. But Tom’s insistence that he was Luna’s father stood between Luna living the high life as a Spencer and being back in the life of poverty she grew up in. Luna chose wealth and poisoned Tom.
Tom’s co-worker Hollis discovered the truth, so Luna also had to kill him. To top things off, Luna had no remorse for her mother, Poppy, sitting in jail and being charged with Luna’s crimes.
The good girl outdid herself when she recalled how she had tricked Zende into not only having sex with her but also letting him think he had taken advantage of her while she had been under the influence. Luna claimed she had taken her mom’s happy pills, thinking they were regular mints. Zende and Poppy had agonized over Luna having unwanted sex and had blamed themselves.
In the case of Crazy vs. Familiar
When she was last seen, Luna was arrested and carted off to take her mother’s spot in a jail cell. Where she went from there, we aren’t too sure.
Chances are good that she will have a court case that we will most likely not see, and Luna will be spending time in prison or a psych ward. But what happens next? For all the crazy things that Luna did, there is something familiar about her behavior.
Luna lacked compassion and remorse and was solely out for her own gain. Whoever got in the way of what she wanted was hurt, trampled on, or destroyed. At the same time, she managed to play a kind-hearted, gentle soul who didn’t understand why life could be cruel.
Who does that remind us of? Sheila Carter.
Nozawa power
There has been no indication that we have seen the last of Luna Nozawa. Like Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), Luna could escape from prison, be let go due to a technicality, or complete her sentence and be released to start a new life.
Luna could have a bone to pick with her Aunt Li for using her “Nozawa power” to capture Luna and hand her over to the police. Would she be able to convince R.J. or Zende to give her a second chance?
As Sheila did, Luna could even head to Genoa City and wreak havoc there. Characters would have to cross over to The Bold and the Beautiful to find out who they were dealing with.
As for Lisa Yamada, who plays Luna, we would like to think that her co-star Naomi Matsuda (Li Finnegan) dropped us a hint when she said on her Instagram, “I am looking forward to working with her again very soon.”
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
