On The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) are stepsisters whose stepsibling rivalry has escalated.
Although there have been times that they have worked together for the sake of their kids, there have been times when they have not had a truce at all. Over the years, Steffy and Hope have had to remind each other that they are not their mothers and don’t want to continue the previous generation’s feud.
However, there have been many times that the stepsiblings found themselves on opposing sides of an issue.
Romances and Betrayals:
When it comes to the attention of men, Steffy and Hope have been smitten with—and even married to—some of the same men. When Hope was dating Insomnia D.J. Oliver Jones (Zack Conroy), Steffy set her sights on him and tried several times to lure him away.

Hope and Steffy have each married brothers Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and they both have children with Liam. There were many back-and-forths and betrayals between the men and Steffy and Hope.
Despite leaving Liam and claiming that she wanted a man who only wanted her, Hope has recently been pursuing Steffy’s husband, Finn (Tanner Novlan).
Baby Blues
This wasn’t so much of a rivalry as it was compounding the issue, but years ago, Steffy adopted a child. The problem was that the baby was actually Hope and Liam’s child, who they thought had died during childbirth. Once the truth came out and the baby was returned to Hope, Steffy felt a tremendous loss. Not only did she lose Liam to her stepsister, but Hope had the baby Steffy had loved as her own, as well.
Family Matters:
When Hope and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) were arguing about custody of their child, Douglas, the boy decided to take matters into his own hands. Douglas told the judge who he wanted to live with. To Hope’s horror, Douglas suggested he live with Steffy. Although it didn’t last long, it was Hope’s turn to know how it felt to have her child handed over to her stepsister.
At work:
At work, Steffy has targeted Hope’s fashion line, Hope for the Future, several times. As CEO, she has tried discontinuing the line, and the recent low sales numbers aren’t helping Hope save it.
Relationship interference:
After turning down Thomas’ marriage proposal, Hope was furious upon discovering that Steffy had encouraged her brother to take Douglas and move to Paris. Hope swore revenge on Steffy and promised that Steffy would one day feel the loss and pain that Hope felt.
Later, Hope grew closer to Steffy’s husband and encouraged him to have a relationship with his biological mother, Sheila, knowing how much that would upset Steffy. Finn’s relationships with both Sheila and Hope undermines his marriage to Steffy, and they have almost parted ways a few times because of it.
Recently, Hope's feelings for Finn have elevated, and she seems incapable of remembering that he is married to her stepsibling. Aside from constant daydreaming about Finn, Hope even kissed him.
How the actors feel about their The Bold and the Beautiful rivalry
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who plays Steffy, told First for Women about working with Annika Noelle (Hope), “We always have a laugh between our scenes. The dynamic of Steffy and Hope is so fun, but she really puts in the work. She’s absolutely wonderful. We’ve had some crazy scenes, recently.”
For Noelle’s part, Soap Hub recently quoted her saying, “Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is a friend. She knows I adore her. Plus, she is one of the most talented, kind, and professional ladies out there.”
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
