The Original Waffler and Still the Best: The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops for the week of April 21

Did you know the Forresters put on a fashion show this week on The Bold and the Beautiful? Because that's what the Forresters do. It was so highly anticipated that we didn't even know it was coming until mid-week. A fashion show out of nowhere? For one reason? What could that reason even be?

Logan Vs. Doc: The age-old dilemma

If there's ever been a more indecisive and ridiculous man on soaps than Ridge Forrester, then we want to know who it is. We can't think of one character in the century-long history of this genre who just doesn't know what he wants more than Ridge. He's now a grandfather three times over and still can't seem to get it together.

He started the week with a romantic evening in his daddy's house with Taylor, but ended it holding hands and making googly eyes at Brooke for the whole world to see. (We're sure the influencer-heavy audience live-streamed the fashion show.) That's our Ridge. The man who can't even buy his own house.

We know what Eric's up to…

And what about Ridge's daddy, Eric? While he might not have spent his entire adult life waffling back and forth between the same two women, he sure showed his true colors this week. The man still wants Brooke, but since she doesn't want him, he's settled for Donna and wants to live vicariously through Ridge. If he can't have Brooke, then Ridge has to have her, Taylor be damned.

While there is nothing technically incestuous about this scenario, it still doesn't sit right with us, but it's B&B, and we just have to roll with it. If something didn't seem slightly incestuous, this would be another soap.

Anyway, we digress. This week, Eric told Brooke that she had to pull out all the stops to make Ridge herw again, and that included modeling the showstopper gown. It was Portofino all over again, without the expensive location shoot and a gondola. Brooke stepped out on that runway as a sight to behold. Our Slut From the Valley granny, dressed in virginal wedding white, mesmermizing Ridge. Taylor? New number, who dis?

Two grandmas battling it out

Then, we had a chemist and a psychiatrist trapped in a vault trading insults this week, because what is maturity? Maybe ask the Brooke and Taylor from 2023 because they were everything we hoped Brooke and Taylor could be. They were funny, insightful, and grown-up. But most of all, they knew how ridiculous they had been fighting over the (non) prize that is Ridge for the last three decades or so.

We want that Brooke and Taylor back, not the two who practically said, "I'm the rubber and you're the glue," cause guess what? We're over it. Enough. These two women should say enough, too.

OK, so what did Carter do?

When Ridge, Brooke, and Taylor were being Ridge, Brooke, and Taylor, the Forresters also took time to congratulate themselves on a job well done because if you can't be your own biggest cheerleader, then what's the point, right? Not only that — they congratulated Carter, too, because he turned their modest little fashion house into a global sensation.

Ok, hold up now — SAY WHAT?!?!?! What was Forrester Creations all these years with the international photo shoots and fashion shows? It wasn't a global sensation?!?! It was just a modest little fashion house this entire time?!?!?! Who's zoomin' who here? Well, at least Carter got Ridge back, and that's all that matters, right? Just ask Brooke and Taylor.

Steffy took a break from crying...

Somehow, Steffy appeared out of nowhere at this fashion show. She had just spent two weeks isolated from her family, sobbing over Liam, but she got it together real quick to fret about her mother and seethe that Daddy was with Brooke and not Taylor on that runway. Steffy HAS to see her parents together, damnit!!! Liam? New phone, who dis?

And that brings us to...

Liam is dying, in case anyone missed that | Image: CBS

Hey, did you know Liam is dying? If you didn't, Finn will find every possible way to tell you. Multiple times. Then, Steffy will find every possible way to tell Liam. Multiple times. Then, Grace will check to make sure this is all true again before informing Bridget, who will then cry because she hadn't had a scene with Liam in about five years, so this is all just awful to her.

So, now that we have that cleared up and Liam knows he only has one life to live and may be spending it in a general hospital (wrong soaps, wrong network, we know), Liam is going to keep it a secret because we need this again.

But okay, Bold, listen up real close. WE DO NOT NEED THIS AGAIN!!! It was painful enough when we went through this nonsense with Eric when we knew darn well he wasn't going to die from the mystery illness that produced a lot of nose bleeds and a trip to the light to see Stephanie.

Please let this story take another direction soon. While Scott Clifton is blowing us away and will continue to do so, the story can't play out like Eric's did if Bold doesn't want to be a parody of its own self. Loop Hope into this mess soon because she is also his ex-wife and also the mother of his daughter.

Hope might be in the doghouse with the Forresters and some fans at the moment after her coup debacle with Carter, but she still deserves to have as prominent a role in this story as Steffy does. Hope vs. Steffy might be the same old, same old with Waffler Jr. in the middle, but at least it makes sense if Waffler Jr. is dying. So, get on that — STAT — while Bridget and Finn work on their inevitable miracle cure.
