At the hospital, Li took a piece of Tom’s liver and put it in a petri dish. She put it under a microscope to look at it. “Tom Starr, are you really Luna’s father?” she asked. She called for a paternity test and said she wanted to run it herself. In her office, Li did the blood tests and waited for the results.
At Bill’s, Luna was bored and laid down for a nap on the couch when Bill rushed in and told her to get upstairs as Will was at the gate and no one could see her. Luna hid at the top of the stairs so she could watch Will interact with his dad.
Will said he wanted to check in on him as Liam told him he was working a lot from home. Will wondered if Bill was just processing everything that he went through with Luna. Upstairs, Luna smiled when he said her name and found his banter with his dad charming.
Bill tried to shut the topic down, but Will reminded Bill how he thought Luna was his daughter and knew it took a toll. Bill told Will he never needed to think of Luna again and didn’t need to bring her up. He assured Will that he was doing just fine. Will laughed that when Liam told him he wasn’t spending much time at the office, he assumed his dad had a new woman in his life. Upstairs, Luna smiled.

At the Forrester mansion, Steffy thought Brooke and Hope were obstacles but Carter was open to having her return to the company. Steffy knew they would be suspicious but believed she convinced them. “This is my chance to undo what they’ve done and play them at their own game,” Steffy insisted. She told them Forrester Creations belonged to them and she intended to get it back. Steffy said she had the DNA of her namesake, and they forgot how powerful that could be, but they were going to find out. Eric told Ridge he believed Steffy could do it. “If anyone could save their company, it was Steffy Forrester,” Eric smiled.
At the CEO’s office, Carter, Hope, and Brooke discussed whether or not to let Steffy come back. Brooke and Carter thought that Steffy showed she had given it a lot of thought and could see the merit of her return to the company. However, Hope reminded them how Steffy vetoed Carter’s ideas before she left and how she had fired Hope. “I have too much class to repeat the names that she called me here, but she did accuse me of manipulating Carter into turning against the Forresters,” Hope said. Hope didn’t think they could trust Steffy.
Carter reminded Hope that he had wanted Eric, Ridge, and Steffy to stay on. Hope told him he could still say no. Hope knew Steffy was qualified but also hypocritical and vindictive. They discussed whether Steffy was being honest or looking for revenge. Brooke thought they should give Steffy a chance to prove herself and maybe she’d convince the others to return as well. “You mean Ridge,” Hope said.
Hope told Brooke that she knew it was a hard time for her but didn’t think it warranted bringing Steffy back. Brooke insisted they should give Steffy a chance. Brooke told Carter that he was the manager of the LLC and there was nothing Steffy could do about that.
Carter called Steffy and told him they discussed her proposal and wanted her to come see them. Steffy said she would come right over. Hope repeated she didn’t think it was the best decision but it was Carter’s to make and she trusted him.
Steffy arrived and Carter told her that he knew she didn’t believe that his takeover intentions were pure, but they were. He said that he knew how he’d hurt her and the Forrester family, but he wanted Steffy to think about how she hurt Hope. “I was reminded today that I don’t want to run a company that beats people down. That’s part of the reason I did what I did,” Carter said sternly.
Steffy agreed it was a difficult situation, and she didn’t like what happened. But she was pragmatic, she said and knew that he was in control of the company. She didn’t like it, but that was how it was, and she believed her contributions could make the company stronger. She said as co-CEO, she had to make tough decisions, and they weren’t always popular but she would still do that under his direction and help him succeed. She asked if they had a deal. Carter held out his hand and said, “Welcome back, Steffy.” She told him it felt right and she wouldn’t make him regret it. “You don’t have to worry, I’m here to help you make Forrester everything it deserves to be. I will succeed, nothing will stop me,” Steffy smiled as Hope looked on doubtfully.
