At Steffy’s, Eric wondered how Carter thought he could run a fashion house without designers. Ridge reminded him it’s no longer a fashion house but a global luxury brand. “Hope’s influence destroyed Carter, and now it could ruin the company,” Steffy said.
Eric couldn’t believe that Hope had anything to do with the takeover. Ridge felt she was the motivator but noted that it was Carter who did the paperwork and tricked them into signing it. “He destroyed every bit of trust we had in him,” Eric said. “And for what? He can’t run this company without us,” Ridge told them confidently. They agreed that none of them would step foot in the building until they got the company back.
Steffy noted that Carter and Hope weren’t completely lost as they had Zende. Eric and Ridge thought it was good to have a Forrester in the building so he could open the door to them when they returned. Ridge said the problem was that Carter saw it as a business, but Forrester was a community of artists. “Eve the way we look at our clients — very unique,” Ridge summarized. He said that Carter couldn’t run the company on his own as he didn’t have the qualities needed.
After Eric left, Steffy and Ridge lamented trusting Carter and devastating Eric. Ridge couldn’t wait for Carter to fail.

Ridge reiterated that Carter needed someone to collaborate with. Steffy noted that Hope would be more than willing to help. “Hope’s an idiot. She drove her own line into the ground; she can’t steer the whole ship,” Ridge told her. Steffy said it wouldn’t stop them from trying. Ridge thought Carter had been reckless and made some big mistakes on his own. He noted that Carter needed this to work to show them he could do this. “Only he can’t. Not on his own. He’s not going to find anyone to move this company forward with him,” Ridge concluded.
In the CEO’s office, Carter explained to Hope that they did this to pull everyone together and thought that Brooke leading the way would make the most sense as she had run the company before. “But if she accepts, what does that mean for her relationship with Ridge?” Hope wondered.
Carter said he had to do what was right for the company, and Brooke was perfect for the job. With her at the helm, they had a chance for real success. Hope agreed but also knew Brooke taking Ridge’s job was a nail in the coffin for her relationship with him. Brooke walked in and Carter said he was about to text her as he had a proposal for her.
Brooke told Carter and Hope that she and Katie had to fire Electra. Hope was shocked that she had just fired Ivy, as they had just assured her that she was safe to stay working there. Carter said he trusted Brooke’s judgment. “In fact, that’s what I want to talk to you about,” he said. Hope was still reeling about Electra’s firing and noted that she was adored. Carter repeated that he trusted Brooke’s judgment and told her that he wanted to focus on expanding the company, so he needed a new CEO. “Do you have someone in mind?” Brooke asked. “As a matter of fact, I do,” Carter told her.
Carte explained he couldn’t run the day-to-day and needed someone to do it. Hope noted it came with some complications. “Nothing that can’t be overcome,” Carter interrupted. Brooke told them she didn’t agree with the takeover but did want to see Forrester thriving. Carter told Brooke he had her in mind for the position. “It’s you! It’s you, Brooke! You’re the one that I want,” Carter announced. He told her she earned it and wanted her to be their CEO.
In the design office, Brooke repeated that they were grateful for the job that Electra did, but they had to let her go. Electra asked if she had done something wrong. Ivy said if someone had complained about Electra’s work, they should have let her know. “In other circumstances, this might not be necessary,” Brooke told them. Brooke explained that Forrester was in a delicate state of transition and she just wasn’t a good fit for the company. Electra and Ivy wanted to know why.
Brooke and Katie noted that Electra was more than an assistant, she had been publicized as part of the line. Brooke told Electra they could do this quietly: She could gather her things, turn in her badge, and leave today. Electra was devastated.
After Brooke and Electra left, Ivy demanded an explanation from Katie but got the runaround. Katie said she hadn’t been told by anyone to fire her, but because of the change of leadership, Electra was no longer a good fit. Katie added that the company was about to be under a tremendous amount of scrutiny. Katie said that Electra was young and would have other opportunities, but right now it was the wrong time to have her at the company. Ivy sternly told Katie that there might be a reason why she couldn’t be straight about her reasons for firing Electra but wished her good luck explaining to Will. Katie told Ivy that she liked Electra, but she wondered how well they really knew her.
At Il Giardino, Remy was still distracted by thoughts of Electra while he was supposed to be working. “Your world is about to unravel, and I’ll be there to pick up the pieces again,” he muttered to himself ominously. Remy looked up and saw Will walking towards him. “Hey Will, are you here to pick up an order? I know how you feel about deliveries,” Remy scoffed. “No, I came here to see you, Remy. Let’s talk about Electra,” Will told him.
Will said he knew that Remy and Electra were good friends who went way back, but Electra was happy. “Be the guy she thinks you are, and don’t mess this up,” Will told him.
Remy noted that Electra was a Forrester, so she wasn’t trying to get her foot in the door; her name was on the building. Will said that Electra was talented and could have a long and successful career at Forrester, but he didn’t want anything to change that. Will said he understood that Remy wanted Electra to share her life with him, but this was her future. “And if you do anything to mess that up, you’re going to answer to me,” Will added.
Will came back to the salon and told Electra that he’d just come back from talking to Remy. Electra broke down crying as he repeated their conversation. Will realized she was crying. She told him that she was fired as she cried.
Wlll asked why Electra was fired, but she didn’t know. She cried that she loved Forrester and working on Ivy’s collection. “It feels like home,” she sobbed. She said she had felt so happy and more secure than she had in years. She thought everything was falling into place, and they wouldn’t even tell her why. “How could this happen?” Electra cried.
Remy went home and looked at photos of Electra on his computer. “I’m sorry, Electra. But you’ll thank me,” he mused.
