At the cabin, Brooke told Hope that what Carter did was out-and-out mutiny. Hope thought that, in time, everyone would come around. Brooke told her that they got Ridge and Steffy to sign the papers in bad faith, and they had no idea they were signing away from the company. Brooke feared that Carter’s actions would turn Forrester into a war zone with Hope and Carter in the center of it.

“How can a man like Carter, full of integrity, look Eric, Steffy, and Ridge in the eye and then rip their company away — and live with himself after?” Brooke asked.

Brooke noted she didn’t have a message from Ridge and assumed that meant that Carter didn’t go through with it. She scolded Hope that there are other ways to push back and still do the right thing. “How? By allowing the Forresters to run Forrester?” Hope asked angrily. Brooke knew that Hope was humiliated when she was fired, but said she wasn’t standing up to them, this was an all-out assault.

Hope repeated how Carter was doing this not just for her, but for Brooke, Katie, Donna, and all the Logans. She said she loved him. “Maybe he didn’t got about it the best way possible, but he’s not going to back down, nor should he,” Hope argued.

Hope said if Steffy hadn’t overreacted, they wouldn’t be where they were. She thought Carter was being courageous by standing up to them. Brooke was aghast that Hope was making it sound like Eric, Steffy, and Ridge were the enemy when they were the ones under attack.

Hope said they were unprofessional and then had an outburst of frustration. Brooke wished Hope had come to her first to talk to her about what they were thinking. Hope clapped back that she wished Brooke had come to her when she overheard her and Carter discussing the coup.

Brooke reminded Hope that she’d heard her explanation but still didn’t agree with it. “A hostile takeover is not the way to handle your concerns,” Brooke added. Hope told her mom that the takeover was happening and she would be there for Carter every step of the way.

Hope knew Brooke was disappointed in her but went on about how incredible Carter was and that they were partners who would continue to be strong together in every sense. Brooke wanted to go to Forrester to see what was happening, and Hope wanted to go with her for Carter’s sake.

At the prison, Bill wondered how Luna could think the two of them were alike, as he’d never taken anyone’s life. Luna swore she hadn’t meant to and didn’t know who that person was. Bill agreed that she wasn’t the sweet young woman he’d welcomed into his home as his daughter. “That was the happiest time of my life and this is the worst,” Luna cried. She said she was locked up and away from anyone who meant anything to her.

Luna knew she had no right to ask Bill for his understanding or forgiveness, but she sensed that if anyone could understand why she went to the lengths she did, it was Bill. Bill noted that Luna had told him about her deeply traumatic childhood and knew what it did to her.

Luna repeated telling Bill about Poppy’s never-ending string of men and drugs she did. Bill said that a lot of people have traumatic childhoods, and they rise above it. He noted she was on her way as she had a good job, a boyfriend who adored her, and a father who was proud to call her his daughter.

Luna thought everyone should hate her for what she did, but sensed that Bill didn’t. Bill thought that Poppy wouldn’t hate her, but Luna shared that she couldn’t accept what had happened. Luna said she was lost and hoped that Bill could help.

Bill didn’t know what to say. Luna said she could see the pain that they shared in his eyes. “Maybe we could help each other out,” Luna suggested. The buzzer went, and Bill had to leave. As they took Luna away, she begged him not to give up on her. “Please, Bill, I need you,” Luna cried.

Ridge told Carter that if he dropped the coup right now, then he, Eric, and Steffy would find a way to move past it. He warned Carter that it was his last chance and suggested that he take it.

Eric and Steffy agreed. They told Carter they would move on if he reversed the LLC papers. Ridge reminded Carter that he didn’t want a war, and if the company was in litigation, it couldn’t do anything. “You know how much I care about you, and for you to extend this olive branch, Ridge, it says a lot,” Carter said. He told them that he loved the company and wanted it to move forward to be somewhere everyone felt respected.

“I believe in dreaming big. I’m doing this for us. I want the company to move forward where everyone feels respected,” Carter explained. He said that he was being bold and thought people should be rewarded for boldness. “That’s the company I’m heading and the company I’m officially in charge of. The new Forrester Creations,” Carter said.

Eric told Carter he was the definition of arrogance. He reminded him that he founded the company, and they were the ones who grew it into what it is. He said that Carter had no idea about what it took to run Forrester.

Carter asked Justin if everything was in order, and Justin confirmed that it was. He said he was sorry, but Carter was correct. “You’re sorry? He’s stealing the company, and you’re sorry?” Ridge asked, incredulous. Carter said he wasn’t stealing anything. He told them that Forrester would emerge stronger than ever, and they should believe in that.

Carter insisted it wasn’t a power grab, and he wasn’t pushing anyone out. “Ridge, you can still design,” Carter said. “Oh, I can? Thank you, Carter! What, with you and Hope in charge?” Ridge mocked. Carter said that Hope would be busy reestablishing her line, and he would rely on Steffy’s input to run the day-to-day business, just like they had been doing. Eric raised his hand and asked, “What about me? Do I get to do anything?” Carter told him nothing would change the fact that he was the founder and always would be. Ridge told Carter that he wasn’t going to go along with him as the ultimate authority of Forrester. “You have no choice but to accept this, Ridge,” Carter told him.

They asked Carter how he could do this to Eric of all people. Carter said it was nothing personal. They wondered how he could say that if he was doing this for Hope. Carter admitted that was part of it, but also because he thought the company was dysfunctional, making them all laugh. Carter said the company needed someone impartial to get it back on track. They pointed out that he claimed everything was impartial and only business, yet he was doing everything to please Hope.

Outside the office door, Hope and Brooke arrived and could hear yelling on the other side of the door. Carter claimed he and Ridge were still friends, but Ridge said it was over. He told Carter that everything he was doing was beneath him, and if he wanted to throw his life away, Ridge wasn’t going to stop him.

Ridge stomped out of the office, but when he opened the door, he saw Brooke and Hope. “There she is, the great Hope Logan,” he seethed, “Are you happy? Happy about what you did to Forrester Creations? Happy about manipulating Carter?” Brooke told him not to talk to her daughter that way.

“You know what you are? You’re a nasty little bitch!” Ridge raged at Hope. Brooke glared furiously as Hope pouted. Carter demanded that Ridge never speak to Hope that way again.
