Steffy told Ridge that she was sure something was going on with her mom. Steffy asked Ridge to give Taylor a little extra attention. Ridge told Steffy that he would be there for Taylor, adding, “You know how much she means to me.” Brooke came into the office and wanted to know what was going on.

Brooke said she couldn’t help but overhear Ridge and Steffy talking. Ridge got interrupted by a call from Taylor. Taylor said she was at Steffy’s and wondered if Ridge could drop by. Ridge said he would be right over, leaving Brooke surprised and confused.

Once alone, Brooke asked Steffy if she knew what the call was about. Brooke thought it strange that Taylor called, and Ridge just rushed out. Steffy didn’t think it was strange at all. Brooke said she heard Steffy say that she was worried about Taylor. Steffy explained that she wanted her mom to stay in L.A. Steffy admitted she had asked her dad to tell Taylor how much they needed her.

Brooke said she needed to be clear with Steffy: Brooke and Ridge’s relationship was to be just as respected as Finn and Steffy’s. “As far as I can tell, yours is getting a lot of respect. It’s not like anyone’s kissing Dad at family events,” Steffy said.

Brooke said she was questioning Steffy’s intentions. Steffy said she was not trying to get her parents back together. Brooke thought Taylor was finding excuses to hang out with Ridge. Brooke insisted that she was the woman in Ridge’s life and he was committed to her. Brooke thought the sooner Taylor and Steffy realized that, the better.

Steffy told Brooke that her talk about respect was “wild.” Steffy said there was one woman in the building without respect: Brooke’s daughter. Steffy suggested that Hope needed someone else in her life to distract her. Brooke suggested Liam could be Hope’s new man.

Carter heard Steffy and Brooke talking and entered the office. Brooke listed all the reasons she hoped Hope and Liam would reunite. Steffy scoffed that she thought a new man for Hope would be better. Carter grabbed a file and went out to the hall. There, he looked worried as he stared at the office door across the hall, where Liam and Hope were talking.

Hope was surprised that Liam was suggesting reuniting. Liam said they were still connected, good friends, and Beth’s parents. He wondered if they gave up too soon on their marriage.

Liam asked if Hope had someone new in her life. Hope said not exactly. Liam told Hope that he didn’t think Finn would ever leave Steffy. Liam blurted out that he missed Hope.

Liam asked if Hope ever wondered what it would have been like if they had made different choices. Liam reminded Hope of all the obstacles and painful moments but said they made it through those times. Hope told Liam to tell her what he was asking. “I’m asking if you would ever try again,” Liam said.

Liam noted that Hope had her “thrown face” on. Hope admitted she did feel thrown. Liam said it wasn’t just about reminiscing. He said he had done a lot of work to get where he was. Liam noted that they were friends, family, and partners. “What if we do it in reverse this time?” Liam asked. He suggested they start with already having a family and build something beautiful from there.

Liam continued that it wasn’t just about Beth. It was about who he and Hope were and what she had suffered. Liam noted the back and forth between Steffy and Hope that he had put Hope through. “You knew that I had a child with this other person, and you just had to accept me having a divided heart and having divided time,” Liam said.

Liam told Hope he didn’t appreciate how difficult that must have been for her for so long. Hope thanked Liam for acknowledging it. She told Liam she was sorry, but they had moved on, and the thought of revisiting that pain wasn’t what she wanted. Liam said he knew it was a long shot, but he was okay.

Liam said he didn’t want to make anything awkward, and he just wanted Hope to know how he felt. “And now you do, and we’re cool,” Liam assured a tearful Hope. Carter let curiosity get the better of him and walked through the door. He stared at Liam and Hope while they hugged.

At Steffy’s, Taylor thanked Ridge for coming over. She explained that she was having a hard time with the new diagnosis. They discussed the name of broken heart syndrome and how she could have it. Ridge wanted Taylor to tell Thomas and Steffy what happened.

Taylor insisted that no one, including Brooke, could know yet. Ridge said he didn’t like keeping things from Brooke but said it was Taylor’s story. Ridge assured Taylor that he was there for her.

Taylor noted there were no surgeries or arteries that could fix what she had. She said the doctor would test her again in four to five weeks and hoped for an improvement. Ridge suggested they dig a little deeper, find out what triggered it, and make sure it didn’t happen again.

Taylor listed through the options and concluded she had not been exposed to a sudden emotional stressor that could have caused her issue. Ridge told Taylor he had found a professional to help her mend her broken heart. Ridge asked her to consider it, and Taylor smiled.

Taylor said that she dealt with people all the time at work with these symptoms, and it should have been on her radar. Taylor said she didn’t know if she would call it depression, but she had carried around emotional pain for a lot of years. Taylor said now that the kids were grown, she didn’t know where she belonged. “That’s easy. You belong with your family,” Ridge said.
