Hope and Carter enjoyed a late morning at the cabin before Carter went to work. They discussed the situation, and Carter said he wanted to tell Steffy the truth. Carter thought he could turn the whole situation around if he told Steffy that they were together, but Hope said he knew why they couldn’t. Brooke walked in the front door and joined the conversation.
After Carter left, Brooke and Hope had coffee. They talked about Carter and how wonderful Hope thought that he was. Hope believed he was the total package, and it was admiral how he was going after the Forresters for them. Hope gushed about how unconditionally Carter supported her, and she believed in him as well. Hope noted that Ridge and Steffy disrespected Carter. “It truly does feel like Carter is giving us all a voice. Maybe he’ll be able to get through to Ridge in a way that you haven’t been able to yet,” Hope added.
At Il Giardino, Deacon told Finn he was upset about Hope’s firing. Deacon insisted that Steffy didn’t understand the truth and that he did because Brooke told him what it was. Finn said that Brooke couldn’t be partial but that he could. Finn reminded Deacon that he was the one that Hope threw herself at.
Deacon asked Finn to defend Hope to Steffy, reiterating that Hope tripped and fell on him. “I know that’s what you and Brooke want to believe, but I was there. Remember? This is not Steffy’s word against Hope’s,” Finn said. Deacon told Finn that he knew Hope's honesty and that she didn’t intend to seduce him.

Finn said he was sure imagining Hope kissing him at Eric’s was also hard on Deacon, but it was true. Finn added that Hope had been doing things out of character for a while, and it was time for her to seek some professional help. Deacon said that Hope had her parents to talk to. Finn adamantly insisted that Hope had issues and that nothing about the situation was Steffy’s fault.
Deacon said he wasn’t trying to turn Finn against his wife, but there was a time when he was Hope’s friend. Finn shut him down and said he would not lobby for Hope. He reminded Deacon that Hope had been warned about her inappropriate behavior, and lines were crossed. “I understand that you see it differently, but as Steffy’s husband, she has my full support,” Finn said.
In the CEO’s office, Steffy and Ridge caught up about work. They wondered why Carter wasn’t there yet. Steffy said that she was sure Hope had gotten her claws into Carter somehow. Ridge lamented that he had given Carter an important task and he hadn’t done it yet. Carter appeared and shut the door behind him. “Oh great he’s shutting the door. Are you going to yell at my daughter again?” Ridge asked.
Carter said he had gotten loud because he felt passionately and apologized. “We need to reinstate Hope for the Future. So come on, let’s do that. Please,” Carter began. Carter said again that Hope’s line was crucial to the success of Forrester now and in the future. Steffy said they’d been through this already.
Carter segued into his pitch about being a global luxury brand. He said that everything is hinging on Ridge being head designer and Forrester would crumble if something happened to him. Carter implored Ridge to take his advice. “Are you finished?” Steffy asked. She told Carter that she had already said she wouldn’t change her mind about HFTF.
Steffy noted that Carter was supporting Hope too much, and she was losing faith in his ability to do what was best for the company. Carter said he was trying to do what was best for Forrester and turned to Ridge as his friend. Ridge said that it wasn’t about friendship. “Steffy’s right, you’re losing your perspective. You gotta focus on what’s important,” Ridge said.
Carter wondered what could be more important. Ridge handed him a thick file and said that he asked Carter to take care of creating an LLC for taxes a long time ago. “Dad, Steffy, and me run this company. You gotta take care of stuff like that,” Ridge said as Carter’s face sunk. “You wanna show me how much this company means to you? Do your job,” Ridge added.
After Carter left, Steffy said that something had changed in Carter, and Ridge agreed. Steffy really believed that Hope had somehow gotten into his head. Finn entered the office, and Ridge said they had discussed Hope and Carter.
Finn shared that Deacon had summoned him, and he had just come from Il Giardino. “He wanted to convince me to have you take Hope back,” Finn explained. Finn said that he made it very clear that he supported Steffy. Steffy appreciated the support and was sure that she was in the right. She noted that Hope wasn’t coming back and said there was nothing Hope could do about it.
Carter returned to Hope’s place and told her and Brooke that he spoke to Ridge and Steffy but couldn’t get through to them. Brooke said she didn’t know why Ridge went along with Steffy. Carter was down in the dumps and said he felt like he let them down. Brooke said she hated how things were turning out but that Ridge and Steffy were in charge and owned the company. Brooke got a call and had to leave.
Once alone, Carter reiterated that he wasn’t giving up on Hope. She told him she believed him and said he was an incredible man. They began kissing, but Carter needed consoling. Hope looked at Carter intently and said, “Steffy can’t keep getting away with this.” Carter nodded in agreement.
Meanwhile, at Forrester, Steffy sat at the CEO’s desk and deleted files of Hope from the company website.
